In Honor of Major Eugene Olson,
our past Commander
He died October 21, 2010 while being survived by his
wife, LtC Vivian after 23 years of marriage. He served inmany positions in the Civil Air Patrol which included
Commander of the Pinellas Senior Squadron. He taught
classes in Aerospace Education, Ground Team Search and
Rescue Training and Urban Direction Finding. He was a
private pilot and mentored many cadets or young people .
He was a friend to many, helping out any way he could.
He will be missed certainly by members of the Civil Air
Patrol who often looked to him for solutions and his per-
sonal friends who knew and respected him.3
