Florida 2016 back-to-school
sales tax holiday
Shoppers won’t pay sales tax on clothes worth $60 or less
and on school supplies worth $15 or less. The tax holiday
runs Aug. 5 through Aug. 7.
Pinellas County School Breakfast
For the 2016-17 School Year, breakfast is free
for all students All students are able to have one breakfast meal at no
charge consisting of an entree item (either hot menu entree
item or cereal and toast), a fruit choice consisting of either
canned fruit, fresh fruit or juice, and one milk.
Aug. 10: All schools open. All Pre-k and postsecondary
schools’ classes begin.
Sept. 5: Labor Day holiday – No school for students.
Oct. 11: End of first quarter.
Oct. 12: No school for students.
Nov. 21 - Nov. 25: Thanksgiving holiday week – No
school for students.
Dec. 16: End of first semester.
Dec. 19 - Dec. 30: Winter holidays - No school for stu-
dents.
Jan. 2: No school for students.
Jan. 3: Second semester begins.
Jan. 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday – No school for
students
Feb. 20: No school for students.
Mar. 10: End of third quarter
Mar. 13 - Mar. 17: Spring holidays – No school for stu-
dents.
Mar. 20: No school for students.
Mar. 21: Schools reopen. Classes resume.
Apr. 14: No school for students.
May 25: Last day for all students

PSTA, Uber Offer Free, Late-Night Rides
For Low-Income Residents called TD Late Shift
With this new program, riders can request up to 23 free rides per month
between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., organizers said.
Rides must be to a place of employment or residence.

Important Tenant Reminders
Maintenance Requests
Non-Emergency maintenance requests can be
submitted on our website csfhome.org or called in
to the rental office. The required form that needs to
be completed is included in the packet. If leaving
the maintenance request on CSF voicemail, please
indicate whether the maintenance crew can enter
your apartment to make the repair
The full version of our policies and regulations can be found on our
website csfhome.org under the Tenant drop down bar. If you
would like a hard copy, please feel free to stop in the rental office
and pick up one up.
Porches, Patios, and Yards
Please keep your patios, porches, and yard areas clean and
litter free. Tenants will be charged if Maintenance has to pick
up trash around their unit.
Unauthorized Occupants
The apartment is to only be occupied by individuals
identified on the lease agreement. Guests are permitted
no more than 7 consecutive days, no more than 14 days in
a year, without prior written consent from CSF. Tenants are
to ensure that their family and friends are not using the
tenant’s address as their mailing address.

HCV Homeownership Program
Homeownership is the “American Dream” – one that has left
many low-income families behind…
The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Homeownership Program is offered
to eligible participants of the Housing Choice Voucher (H.C.V.) program.
The Homeownership program will give H.C.V. residents the option to
purchase a home rather than renting.
Interested in Participating?
Current H.C.V. participants who are interested in joining the program will
have to meet certain eligibility requirements.
The participant MUST:
1.) Be A First-time Homeowner
2.) Meet Minimum Income Requirements:
Currently Employed Full-Time for at least 1 year (Disabled & Elderly
are excluded from this requirement)
Disabled/Elderly Only: Monthly SSI Benefit
3.) Be an active participant of the Housing Choice Voucher for a minimum
of 1 year . All voucher holders in Pinellas County can participate in this
program if the above criteria is met.
Once the H.C.V. participant is determined preliminary eligible they will be
required to participate in a homeownership orientation and homeowner-
ship education workshop to learn more about home buying and financing.

Women's Equality Day in the United States
Friday, August 26, 2016
Women's Equality Day celebrates the anniversary of the adoption of the
19th Amendment to the United States' Constitution on August 26, 1920.
The amendment granted women the right to vote for the first time and was
a result of the women's suffrage movement in the country.
National Sister Day
National Sister Day celebrates sisters, the special bond they share with
their sisters, and their contributions to the family. It is your opportunity to
show appreciation for that special family relationship. It is a day to love
and acknowledge the joy that you sister brings to your life and make sure
that she knows that you appreciate and cherish her.
National Sister Day is an unofficial holiday that is celebrated annually on
August 7. It was celebrated for the first time on August 7, 2011.
