TRYOUTSMandatory Clinic Practices:

Monday, October 25, 2021 – 2:15- 3:15pm

Tuesday, October 26, 2021 – 2:15- 3:15pm

*Students will learn an audition routine.

*Students who are trying out will be picked up by Ms. Rocafort and led to practice area.

*There is a $20 clinic fee . Made payable online by October 25.

Try-outs:

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 – 2:15 pm (Ending time will be TBD)

*Tryouts will be take place at Pinecrest Glades Academy.

*Students who are trying out will be picked up by Ms. Rocafort and led to practice area.

TRYOUTS

Mandatory clinic practices will be held on Monday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 26 from 2:15-3:15pm. Candidates will be learning a variety of dance moves,and jumps.

Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, October 27 at 2:15 Candidates will be called in groups of 3 or 4 to perform what they have learned during the clinics.

*IF STUDENTS DO NOT ATTEND CLINIC PRACTICES, THEY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRY OUT* Candidates are judged individually by a separate and unbiased panel of judges. Not everyone who tries out will be chosen. Tryouts will be closed to anyone other than the judges, sponsors, and school administrators.

IMPORTANT DATES -Wednesday, October 20: All permission slips must be turned into Ms. Rocafort in room 161.

-Monday, October 25: Clinic Fee is due. Please pay on PGA website

-Monday October 25-Wednesday, October 27: Clinics & Try outs   -Friday, October 29: The new 2021-2022 Dragon Spirit Squad will be announced at school!

WHAT TO BRING TO TRYOUTS�Candidate Tryout Acknowledgement Form (Should

have been turned in by Wed., October 20.)

�School spiritCandidates that did not turn in the Candidate Tryout Acknowledgement Form will not be allowed to try out.

SELECTING THE TEAM•Candidates will be in groups of three to four.•Candidates must remain until dismissed in case of a call back

situation. •Selected judges will choose the squad. •The squad will consist of members chosen from grades K – 1

students. •Squad size may vary from year to year. •Cheerleaders must have a 2.0 GPA or above to be

selected for the team and to remain on the team.

PRACTICES Practices days and times (beginning in November):�Mondays 2:15-3:30pm at school.�Wednesdays: 2:15 – 3:30pm at school. (Not on the first

wednesdays of the month due to Faculty meetings)

Spirit Squad members that are part of the After-Care program will be escorted to their classes after practice.

Spirit Squad members that are in parent pick-up will be dismissed at the white tents in the back of the school.

UNIFORM POLICY All Dragon Spirit Squad members will be provided with a cheerleading uniform consisting of a top, skirt, briefs, socks, and hair bow. Spirit Squad members will keep their full uniforms with them at home.   Full uniform is required to be worn for all pep-rallies, performances, and other events where the team will be representing Pinecrest Glades Academy.   Spirit Squad members are required to maintain uniforms in the same condition in which they were accepted.   If uniforms are lost or damaged, Spirit Squad members are required to pay full price for a new uniform.

●Acknowledgement form due to Ms. Rocafort in room 161 or dropped off in the Main Office.

●The new 2021-2022 Spirit Squad will be announced on Friday, October 29th

●Please consider all of these factors prior to deciding to try out. We will require your commitment and dedication from parents and members to the team should your child be chosen as a Spirit Squad member.

●Parents of Squad members will be given a CLASS DOJO link to sign up for squad announcements and reminders.
