Thank You!
Thank you to all the Palooza Volunteers: On behalf of St. Mary’s Parish, I would like to personally thank all the volunteers who worked at Pinckney Palooza last weekend. I cannot thank all the Pinckney Palooza team members enough for all your hard work! They made the Palooza possible. A special thank you to Gina Aten, Chris Fesl, Kevin & Julie Flaherty, Pat Hohl, Tim Jones, Rebecca Keiser, The Knights of Columbus, John & Julie Kukalis, Men’s Club, Dale Pepper, Bob Pauline, Rosary Altar Society, Kevin & Cindy Schang, Heather Shamp, Mick & Sue Walton, Stephanie & Emily Wittrup, and Dennis Wysocki, words cannot convey my gratitude. CAST THE PEACE OF CHRIST
UPON THE WORLD PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION AUGUST 12TH
During every Mass the celebrant invites the assembly to
‘offer each other the sign of peace.’ With that gesture,
parishioners connect themselves to each other within the parish
family. The Peter’s Pence Collection gives us an opportunity to
extend a sign of peace to the Body of Christ around the world.
Our gifts to this annual collection help the Holy Family support
victims of poverty, disaster, war, & oppression & others in
urgent need of assistance. Pope Benedict XVI uses the Peter’s
Pence Collection to strengthen diocese, religious orders, &
struggling communities of faith when they need it most. Next
week our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection,
through your generosity, we can cast the peace of Christ upon
the world.

MUSIC MINISTRY NOTES AN EXCITING NEW CHOIR
SEASON BEGINS!
Our new choir season kick-off
begins Thursday, September 6, at 7:00 pm. Anyone with the
desire to praise God with their voices may participate, and no
one will be required to audition. We welcome (music) readers
and non-readers alike. The choir will sing every Sunday
(except the 1st Sunday of the month) at the 9:00 Mass
beginning September 9. If a member is unable to make a 9-12
month commitment to choir, short-term seasonal opportunities
are available, particularly during Advent and Lent.
Another option for singers is our Vocal Ensemble, a
smaller group that leads music at 11:30 Mass. Wind, string,
percussion and keyboard instrumentalists are encouraged to
offer their time and talents as well. Players with a minimum
three years’ experience are welcome to play at one or both
Sunday Masses.
Please prayerfully consider singing with us while there are
still vacancies. For more information and to register, please
call me at 734-878-3161, ext. 213, or e-mail me at
[email protected]. Sign-up sheets will also be
available the weekends of September 15/16 and 22/23.
Here’s looking forward to a wonderful new season of
music and fellowship. I’d love you to be part of it!
In God’s Spirit,
Tony Giamanco
Music Director

, at 6:00 pm in the music room.
Learning to ring is easy and fun. Non-singers, in particular,
are encouraged to try it out. Just imagine, you will be making
music from the very start!
So come join us in October for a really good “chime”…and
feel free to sign up September 15/16 or 22/23. Great fun and

MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS NEEDED! If you can spare one hour to deliver meals, one day every
week and one gallon of gas – then Meals on Wheels needs
you! Help us deliver meals to the homebound elderly and
disabled people living in your neighborhood. The Meals on
Wheels program serves over 600 seniors each day in
Livingston County with the help of local contributors and
volunteers. We are in desperate need of drivers to deliver
food. Volunteers do more than simply deliver a meal. They
also provide a quick check in…often the volunteer is the only
person a meal recipient may see all day. These are not time
consuming volunteer opportunities, but they are however, very
rewarding! Help make a difference! Contact us at: 810-632-
2155 or email: [email protected]
