INTRODUCTION Handling dimensionally unstable fabrics is always a
problem
Use of pins or Pin Table is becoming common for laying of yarn dyed checks and stripes, but it’s usage for dimensionally unstable fabrics like moss crepe, georgette, etc. is still rare.
Main use of pins in industry:
-reduce ply slippage while layer cutting using straight knife and while transferring fabric blocks to band knife
-aligning stripes and checks during layering and relaying block cut components
WHY PIN TABLES? Pins and pintables are becoming common for laying\
aligning of yarn dyed checks and stripes while laying fabric in long layer, is either at both ends of lay or at specified intervals along side selvedges.
The pins passing through a layup being cut by the cutter are automatically lowered upon the cutter approaching the pins to avoid collision between the pins and the cutter.
THE PROCESS
•The NEEDLE-BARS are adjusted according to the marker.
•The first lay is underlay-paper
•The fabric is pinned from the center to the outside.
• Each ply is cut with the cutting device at the end.
• The final lay is fixed with the needle plates/clamps from above
• The fine-cut can be done with a CNC-Cutter or manually by hand.
•Different fabrics with different sizes of the repeat can be spread in the same lay.
•Immediate net cut. •NO BLOCKING - NO RELAYING

I. CONTINUOUS PIN TABLE A table having a supporting, perforated/slotted top
structure A plurality of pin/needle mechanisms distributed over at
least a portion of said supporting surface Each pin mechanism includes a generally vertical pin
with a pointed upper end portion Pins are moveable vertically between a raised position
at which the point extends above from the supporting surface and a lowered position at which the point is located entirely below the supporting surface by lever
The height of the pins can be adjusted with the turn of a hand-wheel. So the spreading and pinning is convenient, fast and avoids tension in the lay package.
Needle bars for longitudinal movement of a set of pins on the bar. Individual pins may be deactivated.

CONTINUOUS PIN TABLE May or may not have a cutter attached
An X-carriage extending transversely over said supporting surface and moveable longitudinally.
A CNC cutter supported on X-carriage and moveable longitudinally along it, for cutting sheet material spread on supporting surface causing the pins of the pin mechanisms located in the vicinity of the X-carriage to be moved to their lowered positions so that during cutting of sheet material spread, the possibility of the cutter striking any of the pins is avoided.

Unique needle bar inclination can accommodate spiral stripes of circular knit fabrics
II. PIN TABLE FOR PATTERN MATCHING
Smaller size i.e. work area ranges from 55 x 95 cm to 95 x 175 cm.
Needles can be set at any place based on plaid location.
Height of the individual pin can be altered as a magnetic holder holds the pin.
Thread marking is possible.
Block cut fabric from the long layer can be relayed and cut using band knife.
NEEDLE PLATE• Needle Plate is a very useful,
which helps you to fix lays including the MARKER or the PATTERN. Its needles - coming from above - keep the whole lay from distortion of its single ply.
• Due to its maximum depth of penetration of 45 mm, higher lays are easily prevented from distorting.
• The cutting quality is improved when employing the Needle Plate, as it stays in the lay during the cutting operation. Its simple handling allows a quick setting as well as changing of position.
FEATURES Improving the quality. Spreading and matching in one step - Avoiding of
relaying operations. Doing the fine cutting after spreading without
relaying. Savings in labor time between 30% and 50%. Reducing the fabric consumption - Depending on the
product, average material savings are between 3% and 7%.
This results in an average pay-back time of less than one year.
PATTERN BLOCKING TABLE These are tables of size 1.8 m x 1.2 m to 1.8 m x 3.6
m or can be fabricated as required. Tabletops are two - layered.
The top layer is fixed with the table stand and has pinholes in both horizontal and vertical grids. The bottom layer has pins mounted on similar horizontal and vertical grid points.
The bottom layer of tabletop can be raised or lowered while the pins protrude through the pinholes.
PATTERN BLOCKING TABLE Here also, pins can be dismantled if not required at
certain grid points. There are color grid lines ruled into 5 cm squares on the table top with an option to use Laser light guides, which makes pattern matching between two needles easy.
The height of the needle can be adjusted to a maximum of 100 mm by an operating handle. Needles are specially coated to avoid damaging fabric
