Given our past relationship \"rith ICE, this partnershipwill enable us to better serve and meet the needs of the residents of Arizona and Pima County.[ have been in communication with your office in Tucson . Assistant Special Agent in Charge,

    bl(6), (b 7)(C) has been very helpful and encouraging . With his advice I am proposing thefollowing:

    Train two (2) Officers for the Pima County Jail, located inTucson, Arizona .Train six (6) Deputies and one (1) Sergeant from the newlyfunned Pima County Sberi..ff's Department Border CrimeUnit

    Train one (1) Detective for the Tucson area B.E.s.T.squad.This program will allow us to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding that wil1 enable us toparticipate with ICE in identify ing crimi.nal illegal aliens who pose a criminal risk to the citizensof Pima County. In addition, we can provide a class room setting at our headquarters located1750 E. Immigration and CustomsEnforcement (lCE) has received your request for 287(g) Delegation ofAuthority traininthe Pima County Sheriff' s Department.On May 1, 2007, the Program Manager for 287(g) Delegation of Authority at ICEHeadquarters forwarded yo ur request for participation in the 287(g) program to the SpecAgent in Charge (SAC), and the Field Office Director (FaD) for the Phoenix, Arizona aresponsibility. TIle SAC and FOD, along with a member of your staffwill need to condufeasibility assessment stud y.
