Jolita, a native of Texas, moved to Italy in 1978 and for 12 years she worked for the American International School of Florence in the role of Upper School Coordinator. She began her career in the fitness industry in 1983, during the era of Jane Fonda aerobics. Following the evolution of the business, she passed through the phase of hip-hop, Step, Body sculpting, and even BOSU balance classes to arrive at the “boom” of Mind-Body fitness,

with the introduction of Pilates into the gym environment. That’s when Pilates changed her life. Her first exposure to the method was through the UK Pilates Institute training school headed by Michael King where she began her studies in 1998. In 1999, Jolita brought the Pilates Institute method to Italy and trained to be teacher trainer as well as the director of the school on Italian territory. An important moment in her Pilates career happened in 2007 when she decided to open her own studio: “TOUCH - Personal Pilates”.Another significant step was opening her teacher training school “Pilates Network” in 2008. With an understanding of the importance of continued study, Jolita undertook the 250-hour mentor program with Pilates Elder Lolita San Miguel and in 2010 was awarded her certificate as “Second Generation Master Teacher”.In 2011 Jolita sat for the PMA exam and achieved the PMA certification. She presented her training school for PMA-PSAP approval in 2017. In this same year, Jolita was elected to the PMA Certification Commission. From 1999 to the present, more than 500 instructors have participated in the Pilates Network training at some level or another, and beyond her contribution to the Italian Pilates community, Jolita’s workshops and seminars are appreciated in the international market as well.
