PRAYERSapproved by Pope Pius IX

Magnificent Promises to Saint Bridget of Sweden

Pope Benedict XV expressed himself as follows on the Revelations of St. Bridget:

“The approbation of such revelations implies nothing more than, after mature examination, it is permissible to publish them for the unit of the faithful. Though they don’t merit the same credence as the truths of religion, one can, however, believe them out of human faith, conforming to the rules of prudence by which they are probable, and supported by sufficient motives that one might believe in them piously.”

(Les Petits Bollandistes, tome XII)

The 14th of June 1303, at the moment Bridget was born, Benedict, the curate of Rasbo, prayed for the happy deliverance of Ingeborde. Suddenly he found himself enveloped byluminous cloud out of which Our Lady appeared:

“A child has been born at Birger; her voice will be heard by the entire world.”Sagii, die XXIV Aprilis 1903 — Imprimatur

These Prayers and these Promises have been copied frombook printed in Toulouse in 1740 and published by the P. Adrien Parvilliers of the Company of Jesus, Apostolic Missionary of the Holy Land, with approbation, permission and recommendation to distribute them.

Parents and teachers who will read them to young infants for at least one year will assure their being preserved for life from any grave accident which would involve the loss of one of their five senses.

Pope Pius IX took cognizance of these Prayers with the prologue; he approved them May 31, 1862, recognizing them as true and for the good of souls.

This sentence of Pope Pius IX has been confirmed by the realization of the promises by all persons who have recited the prayers and by numerous supernatural facts by which God wanted to make known their exact truth.collection of small books, these prayers among them, was approved by the Great Congress of Malines on August 22, 1863.

Question — Must one recite the Prayers everyday without interruption to obtain the privileges?

Answer — One should miss saying them as few times as possible; but if forserious reason one is obliged to miss them, one doesn’t lose the privileges attached to them, as long as one recites 5,480 Prayers during the year. One must say them with devotion and concentrate on the words one pronounces.

These prayers can serve as the Way of the Cross.

Visitors to the Church of St. Paul at Rome can see the crucifix, above the Tabernacle in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, sculptured by Pierre Cavallini, before which St. Bridget knelt when she received these 15 Prayers from Our Lord. The following inscription is placed in the church to commemorate the event: “Pendentis, Pendente Dei verba accepit aure accipit et verbum corde Brigitta Deum. Ano Jubilei MCCCL.”

As St. Bridget forlong time wanted to know the number of blows Our Lord received during His Passion, He one day appeared to her and said:

“I received 5,480 blows on My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, say 15 Our Fathers and 15 Hail Marys with the following Prayers (which He taught her) forwhole year. When the year is up, you will have honored each one of My Wounds.”

Our Lord made the following promises to anyone who recited the 15 St. Bridget Prayers forwhole year:

Promises

1. I will deliver 15 of his lineage from Purgatory.

2. Fifteen souls of his lineage will be confirmed and preserved in grace.

3. Fifteen sinners of his lineage will be converted.

4. Whoever recites these Prayers will attain the first degree of perfection.

5. Fifteen days before his death I will give him My Precious Body in order that he may escape eternal starvation; I will give him My Precious Blood to drink lest he thirst eternally.

6. Fifteen days before his death he will feel deep contrition for all his sins and will have perfect knowledge of them.

7. I will place before him the sign of My Victorious Cross for his help and defense

against the attacks of his enemies.

8. Before his death I shall come with My Dearest Beloved Mother.

9. I shall graciously receive his soul, and will lead it into eternal joys.

10. And having led it there I shall give him special draught from the fountain of My Deity, something I will not do for those who have not recited My Prayers.

11. Let it be known that whoever may have been living in state of mortal sin for 30 years, but who will recite devoutly, or have the intention to recite these Prayers, the Lord will forgive him all his sins.

12. I shall protect him from strong temptations.

13. I shall preserve and guard his 5 senses.

14. I shall preserve him from sudden death.

15. His soul will be delivered from eternal death.

16. He will obtain all he asks for from God and the Blessed Virgin.

17. If he has lived all his life doing his own will and he is to die the next day, his life will be prolonged.

18. Every time one recites these Prayers he gains 100 days indulgence.

19. He is assured of being joined to the supreme Choir of Angels.

20. Whoever teaches these Prayers to another, will have continuous joy and merit which will endure eternally.

21. Where these Prayers are being or will be said in the future God is present with His grace.

First Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus Christ! Eternal Sweetness to those who love Thee, joy surpassing all joy and all desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners, Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire than to be among men, even assuming human nature at the fullness of time for the love of men, recall all the sufferings Thou has endured from the instant of Thy conception, and especially during Thy Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from all eternity in the Divine Plan.

Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples, having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy Most Precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time Thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst foretell them Thy coming Passion.

Remember the sadness and bitterness which Thou didst experience in Thy Soul as Thou Thyself bore witness saying: “My Soul is sorrowful even unto death.”

Remember all the fear, anguish and pain that Thou didst suffer in Thy delicate Body before the torment of the Crucifixion, when, after having prayed three times, bathed insweat of blood, Thou wast betrayed by Judas, Thy disciple, arrested by the people ofnation Thou hadst chosen and elevated, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges during the flower of Thy youth and during the solemn Paschal season.

Remember that Thou wast despoiled of Thy garments and clothed in those of derision; that Thy Face and Eyes were veiled, that Thou wast buffeted, crowned with thorns, reed placed in Thy Hands, that Thou was crushed with blows and overwhelmed with affronts and outrages.

In memory of all these pains and sufferings which Thou didst endure before Thy passion on the cross, grant me before my death true contrition, sincere and entire confession, worthy satisfaction and the remission of all my sins. Amen.

Second Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! True liberty of angels, Paradise of delights, remember the horror and sadness which Thou didst endure when Thy enemies, like furious lions, surrounded Thee, and by thousands of insults, spits, blows, lacerations and other unheard of cruelties, tormented Thee at will. In consideration of these torments and insulting words, I beseech Thee, O my Savior, to deliver me from all my enemies, visible and invisible, and to bring me, under Thy protection, to the perfection of eternal salvation. Amen.

Third Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Creator of Heaven and earth Whom nothing can encompass or limit, Thou Who dost enfold and hold all under Thy Loving power, remember the very bitter pain Thou didst suffer when the Jews nailed Thy Sacred Hands and Feet to the Cross by blow after blow with big blunt nails, and not finding Thee inpitiable enough state to satisfy their rage, they enlarged Thy Wounds, and added pain to pain, and with indescribable cruelty stretched Thy Body on the Cross, pulled Thee from all sides, thus dislocating Thy Limbs.

I beg of Thee, O Jesus, by the memory of this most Loving suffering of the Cross, to grant me the grace to fear Thee and to Love Thee. Amen.

Fourth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Heavenly Physician, raised aloft on the Cross to heal our wounds with Thine, remember the bruises which Thou didst suffer and the weakness of all Thy Members which were distended to suchdegree that never was there pain like unto thine. From the crown of Thy Head to the Soles of Thy feet there was not one spot on Thy body that was not in torment, and yet, forgetting all Thy sufferings, Thou didst not cease to pray to Thy Heavenly Father for Thy enemies, saying: “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Through this great Mercy, and in memory of this suffering, grant that the remembrance of Thy Most Bitter Passion may effect in usperfect contrition and the remission of all our sins. Amen.

Fifth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Mirror of eternal splendor, remember the sadness which Thou experienced, when contemplating in the light of Thy Divinity the predestination of those who would be saved by the merits of Thy Sacred Passion, Thou didst see at the same time, the great multitude of reprobates who would be damned for their sins, and Thou didst complain bitterly of those hopelessly lost and unfortunate sinners.

Through this abyss of compassion and pity, and especially through the goodness which Thou displayed to the good thief when Thou saidst to him: “This day, thou shalt be with Me in Paradise,” I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, Thou wilt show me mercy. Amen.

Sixth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Beloved and most desirable King, remember the grief Thou didst suffer, when naked and likecommon criminal, Thou was fastened and raised on the Cross, when all Thy relatives and friends abandoned Thee, except Thy Beloved Mother, who remained close to Thee during Thy agony and whom Thou didst entrust to thy faithful disciple when Thou saidst to Mary: “Woman, behold thy son!” and to St. John: “Son, behold thy Mother!”

I beg of Thee, O My Savior, by the sword of sorrow which pierced the soul of Thy holy Mother, to have compassion on me in all my affliction and tribulations, both corporal and spiritual, and to assist me in all my trials, and especially at the hour of my death. Amen.

Seventh Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Inexhaustible Fountain of compassion, Who byprofound gesture of Love, said from the Cross: “I thirst!” suffered from the thirst for the salvation of the human race. I beg of Thee, O my Saviour, to inflame in our hearts the desire to tend toward perfection in all our acts; and to extinguish in us the concupiscence of the flesh and the ardor of worldly desires. Amen.

Eighth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Sweetness of hearts, delight of the spirit, by the bitterness of the vinegar and gall which thou didst taste on the Cross for Love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy Precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that they may serve asremedy and consolation for our souls. Amen.

Ninth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Royal virtue, joy of the mind, recall the pain Thou didst endure when, plunged in an ocean of bitterness at the approach of death, insulted, outraged by the Jews, Thou didst cry out inloud voice that Thou was abandoned by Thy Father, saying: “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?”

Through this anguish, I beg of Thee, O my Saviour, not to abandon me in the terrors and pains of my death. Amen.

Tenth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Who art the beginning and end of all things, life, and virtue, remember that for our sakes Thou was plunged in an abyss of suffering from the soles of Thy Feet to the crown of Thy Head. In consideration of the enormity of Thy Wounds, teach me to keep, through pure love, Thy commandments, whose way is wide and easy for those who love Thee. Amen.

Eleventh Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Deep abyss of mercy, I beg of Thee, in memory of Thy Wounds which penetrated to the very marrow of Thy Bones and to the depth of Thy Being, to draw me,miserable sinner, overwhelmed by my offenses, away from sin and to hide me from Thy Face justly irritated

against me, hide me in Thy Wounds, until Thy anger and just indignation shall have passed away. Amen.

Twelfth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Mirror of Truth, symbol of unity, link of Charity, remember the multitude of wounds with which Thou was covered from head to foot, torn and reddened by the spilling of Thy adorable Blood. O Great and Universal Pain which Thou didst suffer in Thy virginal Flesh for Love of us! Sweetest Jesus! What is there that Thou couldst have done for us which Thou hast not done! May the fruit of Thy sufferings be renewed in my soul by the faithful remembrance of Thy Passion, and may Thy Love increase in my heart each day, until I see Thee in eternity, Thou Who art the treasury of every real good and every joy, which I beg Thee to grant me, O Sweetest Jesus, in Heaven. Amen.

Thirteenth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Strong Lion, Immortal and Invincible King, remember the pain which Thou didst endure when all Thy strength, both moral and physical, was entirely exhausted, Thou didst bow Thy Head, saying: “It is consummated!” Through this anguish and grief, I beg of Thee, Lord Jesus, to have mercy on me at the hour of my death when my mind will be greatly troubled and my soul will be in anguish. Amen.

Fourteenth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! Only Son of the Father, Splendor and Figure of His Substance, remember the simple and humble recommendation Thou didst make of Thy Soul to Thy Eternal Father, saying: “Father, into Thy hands I commend My Spirit!” And with Thy Body all torn, and Thy Heart broken, and the bowels of Thy Mercy opened to redeem us, Thou didst Expire. By this Precious Death, I beg of Thee, O King of Saints, comfort me and help me to resist the devil, the flesh and the world, so that being dead to the world I may live for Thee alone. I beg of Thee at the hour of my death to receive me,pilgrim and an exile returning to Thee. Amen.

Fifteenth Prayer

Our Father — Hail Mary.

O Jesus! True and fruitful Vine! Remember the abundant outpouring of Blood which Thou didst so generously shed from Thy Sacred Body as juice from grapes inwine press.

From Thy Side, pierced withlance bysoldier, ¬¬¬blood and water issued forth until there was not left in Thy Bodysingle drop, and finally, likebundle of myrrh lifted to the top of the Cross, Thy delicate Flesh was destroyed, the very Substance of Thy Body withered, and

the Marrow of Thy bones dried up.

Through this bitter Passion and through the outpouring of Thy Precious Blood, I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, to receive my soul when I am in my death agony. Amen.

Conclusion

O Sweet Jesus! Pierce my heart so that my tears of penitence and love will be my bread day and night; may I be converted entirely to Thee, may my heart be Thy perpetual habitation, may my conversation be pleasing to Thee, and may the end of my life be so praiseworthy that I may merit Heaven and there with Thy Saints, praise Thee forever. Amen.

Divine Mercy Novena

Our Lady in Medjugorje has often spoken to us of God's mercy. Our Lady said on:

September 6, 1981

"Pray especially on Sunday, so that the great sign, the gift of God may come. Pray with fervor and a constancy so that God, may have mercy on His great children. Go in peace, my angel. May the blessing of God accompany you. Amen. Good-bye."

In addition to this, in the Novena to The Divine Mercy which Our Lord gave to Saint Maria Faustina for her own personal use, He revealed to her a powerful prayer that He wanted everyone to say - the Chaplet of Mercy. Saint Faustina prayed the Chaplet almost constantly, especially for the dying, and the Lord urged her to encourage others to say it, too, promising extraordinary graces to those who would recite this special prayer.

The Chaplet can be said anytime, but the Lord specifically

asked that it be recited as a novena, especially on the nine days before the Feast of Mercy. and He promised, "By this Novena (of Chaplets) I will grant every possible grace to souls"(796)

We can pray this Novena of Chaplets for our own personal intentions, or we can offer it together with the Novena to The Divine Mercy for the daily intentions dictated by Our Lord to Saint Faustina. Our Lord Said to Saint Faustina:

Encourage souls to say the Chaplet which I have given you. ... Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. ... When they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the Merciful Savior. ... Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My Mercy... Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My will (687,1541,1731,)

Day One

Today bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners and immerse them in the ocean of My Mercy.

Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion

show us Your mercy, that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy for ever and ever. Amen.

Day Two

Today bring to Me souls of priests and religious, immerse them in My unfathomable mercy.

Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase Your grace in men and women consecrated to Your service, that they may perform worthy works of mercy; and that all who see them may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven.Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the company of chosen ones in Your vineyard - upon the souls of priests and religious; and endow them with the strength of Your blessing. For the love of the Heart of Your Son in which they are enfolded, impart to them Your power and light, that they may be able to guide others in the way of salvation and with one voice sing praise to Your boundless mercy for ages without end. Amen.

Day Three

Today bring to Me all devout and faithful souls, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy.

Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy, You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg this grace of You by that most wondrous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.Eternal Father, turn Your Merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may they never fail, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Day Four

Today bring to Me those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Me.

Most Compassionate Jesus, You are the Light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who do not believe in God and of those who as yet do not know You. Let the rays of Your grace enlighten them that they, too,

together with us, may extol Your wonderful mercy; and do not let them escape from the abode which is Your most Compassionate Heart. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who do not believe in You, and for those who yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel. These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Day Five

Today bring to Me the souls of those who have separated themselves from the Church.

Most Merciful Jesus, goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it of You. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Church. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the Church, and never let us escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; but bring it about that they, too, come to glorify the generosity of Your Mercy.Eternal Father, turn Your Merciful gaze upon the souls of those who have separated themselves form Your Son's Church, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love of Your own Son and upon his bitter Pasion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in His Most Compassionate Heart. Bring it about that they also may glorify Your great mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Day Six

Today bring to Me the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children, and immerse them in My Mercy.

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said, "Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart." Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the heavenly Father's favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out hymns of love and mercy.Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls, and upon little children who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: Bless the whole world. that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Day Seven

Today bring to Me the souls who especially venerate and glorify My Mercy and immerse them in My Mercy.

Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy; and united to You, O Jesus, they carry all mankind on thier shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from life. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute, that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls are a living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their hearts, overflowing with joy, sing a canticle of mercy to You, O Most High! I beg You, O God: Show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them that during their life, but especially at the hour of death, the souls who will venerate this fathomless mercy of his, He, Himself, will defend as His glory. Amen.

Day Eight

Today bring to Me the souls who are detained in purgatory and immerse them in the abyss of My Mercy.

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of in Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of Purgatory, that there, too, the power of Your mercy may be celebrated. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded: Manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just security. Look upon them in no other way but only through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion. Amen.

Day Nine

Today bring to Me souls who have become lukewarm, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy.

Most Compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love let these tepid souls, who like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for notheing is beyond Your power. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen.

The Seven, Seven, And Seven-Taken from "Calling on Heaven"

On many occasions, Our Lady has asked the visionaries in Medjugorje to pray this prayer as in the following message She gave:

“Continue to recite The Lord’s Prayer, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be seven times, but also add the Creed. Good-bye, my angels. Go in the peace of God.” June 27, 1981

First say:

The Apostle’s Creed

Then say seven times each:

The Our Father, The Hail Mary, The Glory Be

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Before daily Rosary

O COME, HOLY SPIRIT, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and You shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.

Prayer Against satan and The Rebellious Angels

The Holy Father exhorts priests to say this prayer as often as possible, as a simple exorcism to curb the power of the devil and prevent him from doing harm. The faithful also may say it in their own name, for the same purpose, as any approved prayer. Its use is recommended whenever action of the devil is suspected, causing malice in men, violent temptations and even storms and various calamities. It could be used as a solemn exorcism (an official and public ceremony, in Latin), to expel the devil. It would then be said by a priest, in the name of the Church and only with the Bishop’s permission.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in “our battle against principalities and powers, against spirits of wickedness in the high places.” Come to the assistance of men whom God has created to His likeness and whom He has redeemed atgreat price from the tyranny of the devil. Holy Church venerates thee as Her guardian and protector; to thee, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into Heaven. Exorcism Prayer to Purify & Protect Your Home and Family, Business, or Places You Desire.

In the Name of Jesus Christ our God and Lord, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the Saints, (and powerful in the holy authority of our ministry),* we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the devil.God arises; His enemies are scattered and those who hate Him flee before Him.

So as not to take for granted the credibility of the Medjugorje Apparitions, it is stated that the Medjugorje apparitions are not formally approved by the Church. By no means are we intending to pre-empt the Church on the validity of the apparitions. They are private revelation awaiting the Church’s judgment. Because the Queen of Peace apparitions are

ongoing and not yet over, the Church has yet to rule on their authenticity. Caritas of Birmingham, and all associated with it, realize and accept that the final authority regarding the Queen of Peace Medjugorje Apparitions rests with the Holy See in Rome. We at Caritas willingly submit to that judgment. Caritas of Birmingham and its mission is not connected to the Diocese of Birmingham, Alabama.

Caritas' 911 Prayer

The Queen of Peace of Medjugorje has told us in situations of immediate and urgent need, She will be with us. She encourages us to call upon Her. Our Lady said on March 4, 1982:

“…I am at your side and guard you. If you have any problems, whatever it be, call me. I will come immediately and help you in advising you on best resolving the difficulty…”

A 911 call receives immediate help, but 911 also now stands for the crisis of September 11, 2001, or 9/11. A 911 crisis in one’s life should not only be handled by reacting to the physical aspect associated with the crisis, but met with a spiritual response as well. Because Our Lady also has said on July 21, 1982:

“…Through fasting and prayer, one can stop wars, one can suspend the laws of nature…”

Therefore, we know any crisis whatsoever must submit to change, even against all odds, when granted by God through prayer. For immediately needed graces and urgent needs, the Caritas Community has used and adopted a special 911 prayer response:

9 Pray 9 times the Memorare

1 Pray 1 Rosary

1 Pray 1 Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Pray the Caritas 911 prayer in the following way:

State your needs or petitions. 9 times pray the Memorare.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,That never was it known

That anyone who fled to Thy protectionImplored Thy help

Or sought Thy intercession, was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto Thee

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.

To Thee I come, before Thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,

But in Thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

1 time pray the Rosary 1 time pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy End by praying the following prayer 3 times:

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in you.

updates from Medjugorje daily

Be it problems of health, marriage, family, depression, vice, financial, satanic activities, or infestations etc., grace can bring an alleviation, or place you at peace with the circumstances, or a complete answered miracle. Pray 911 for an immediate grace.

DID YOU KNOW: Nine completes a novena. The first 9-day novena was by Mary and Christ’s apostles and disciples. After 9 days of praying in the Upper Room, they received the Holy Spirit. Since that time, Christians have prayed in numbers of 9, called novenas, to receive answers to prayers, as the first novena was to receive the Holy Spirit.

SUGGESTION: Also pray for 9 days 911, making it a novena within a novena. Fast on bread and water for 9 days, in union each day with the 911 prayer, for a profoundly potent prayer.

THOUGHT: In regard to some aspects of satanic activity, oppression, interference, or domination, Christ said, these can only be removed by fasting and prayer.

Fact: You cannot change any circumstance by forced prayer; for it is God who does it, through your prayer, when prayed with the heart. What is praying with the heart? Scan your whole life. Think of your most heartfelt conversation with someone you have really pleaded with. Pray that same way, talking to God, for prayer is only heartfelt conversation with God.

Who is Caritas of Birmingham?

Caritas is an international organization operated by the Community of Caritas. Its purpose is to live the messages of the Queen of Peace, and then spread them. Our Lady said on June 25, 2007:

“...God desires to convert the entire world ...”

At the present moment, the action of God is for the transformation of all the earth. It is an exciting moment in man’s history, which will result in the regeneration of man being born in a new spirit of Christian life.

St. Faustina's Prayer Toward Purgatory Souls

O Jesus, I understand that Your mercy is beyond all imagining. I ask You, therefore, to make my heart so big that there will be room in it for the needs of all the souls living on

this whole earthly globe. O Jesus, my love reaches beyond the world to the souls suffering in Purgatory, and I want to exercise mercy toward them by means of

indulgenced prayers. God's mercy is unfathomable and inexhaustible, just as God Himself is unfathomable. Were I to use the strongest words for expressing this mercy of God, they are nothing in comparison with what it is in reality. O Jesus, make my heart sensitive to all the sufferings of my neighbor whether they be of body or of soul. O my

Jesus, I know that You act toward us as we act toward our neighbor. My Jesus, make my heart like unto Your merciful Heart. Jesus, help me to go through life doing good to

everyone. St. Faustina's Diary, II, 132

St. Faustina's Prayer for Priests

"O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of Priests so that hardened hearts might be brought

to repentance and return to You, O Lord. Lord, give us holy Priests; You yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy

accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the soul of Priests. May the power of Your mercy, O Lord,

shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of Priests, for You can do all things." St. Faustina's Diary #1052

Prayers of St. Faustina to Jesus

O Lord, though I cannot comprehend You and do not understand Your ways, I nonetheless trust in Your mercy. If it is Your will, Lord, that I live always in such darkness, may You be blessed. I ask You only one thing, Jesus: do not allow me to offend You in any way. O my Jesus, You alone know the longings and the sufferings of my heart. I am glad

that I can suffer for You, however little. (St. Faustina's Diary #73)

Do what You will with me, O Jesus; I will adore You in everything. May Your will be done in me, O my Lord and my God, and I will praise Your infinite mercy. (St. Faustina's Diary #78)

Mary, my Mother and my Lady, I offer You my soul, my body, my life and my death, and all that will follow it. I place everything in Your hands. O my mother, cover my soul with

Your virginal mantle and grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body. Defend me with Your power against all enemies, and especially against those who hide their malice

behind the mask of virtue. O lovely lily! (St. Faustina's Diary #79)

I want to love You as no human soul has ever loved You before; and although I am utterly miserable and small, I have nevertheless cast the anchor of my trust deep down into the abyss of Your mercy, O my God and Creator! In spite of my great misery I fear

nothing, but hope to sing You a hymn of glory for ever. Let no soul, even the most miserable, fall prey to doubt; for as long as one is alive, each one can become a great saint, so great is the power of God's grace. It remains only for us not to oppose God's

action. (St. Faustina's Diary #283)

Prayer of St. Faustina before the Eucharist

I adore You, Lord and Creator, hidden in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I adore You for all the works of Your hands, that reveal to me so much wisdom, goodness and mercy, O

Lord. You have spread so much beauty over the earth and it tells me about Your beauty, even though these beautiful things are but a faint reflection of You, incomprehensible Beauty. And although You have hidden Yourself and concealed Your beauty, my eye,

enlightened by faith, reaches You and my soul recognizes its Creator, its Highest Good, and my heart is completely immersed in prayer of adoration.

My Lord and Creator, Your goodness encourages me to converse with You. Your mercy abolishes the chasm which separates the Creator from the creature. To converse with

You, O Lord, is the delight of my heart. In You I find everything that my heart could desire. Here You light illumines my mind, enabling it to know You more and more deeply. Here streams of graces flow down upon my heart. Here my soul draws eternal life. O my Lord and Creator, You alone, beyond all these gifts, give Your own self to me and unite

Yourself intimately with Your miserable creature.

O Christ, let my greatest delight be to see You loved and Your praise and glory proclaimed, especially the honor of Your mercy. O Christ, let me glorify Your goodness

and mercy to the last moment of my life, with every drop of my blood and every beat of my heart. Would that I be transformed into a hymn of adoration of You. When I find

myself on my deathbed, may the last beat of my heart be a loving hymn glorifying Your unfathomable mercy. Amen.

O Mary, my Mother and my Lady, I offer you my soul, my body, my life and my death and all that will come after it. I place everything in your hands, O my Mother, cover my soul

with your virginal mantle and grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body. Defend me with your power against all enemies and especially against those who hide

their malice behind the mask of virtue. Fortify my soul that pain may not break it. Mother of grace, teach me to live by God’s power.

O Mary, a terrible sword has pierced you holy soul. Except for God, no one knows of your suffering. Your soul does not break, it is brave, because it is with Jesus. Sweet Mother, unite my soul to Jesus, because it is only then that I will be able to endure all trials and

tribulations and only in union with Jesus will my little sacrifices be pleasing to God. Sweetest Mother, continue to teach me about the interior life. May the sword of suffering

never break me. O pure Virgin, pour courage into my heart and guard it. Amen.

The Apparitions of the Divine Mercy, Poland

Note: Learn all about Divine Mercy! There are many articles, prayers, chaplet, devotionals, novena, pictures etc. on Divine Mercy located at the bottom of this page

Note: Sister Faustina was declared a Saint on April 30, 2000.

Helena Kowalska was born in the village of Glogowiec west of Lodz, Poland on August 25, 1905.

As early as the age of seven Helena heard a voice in her soul calling her to a more perfect way of life. By age 15 she had made known to her parents her desire to enter into the convent.

On August 1, 1925, she applied for the second time to the Congregation of The Sister’s of Our Lady of Mercy......................(Sister Mary Faustina) This time she was accepted. She was nearly 20 at this time.

After completion of her postulancy period she received her veil, and on April 30, 1926 she received her habit and her name in religion. From now on Helena would bear the name of Sister Mary Faustina.

Sister Faustina began to have a number of religious experiences far from what one might consider the norm. These visions lasted throughout her entire life. From trials of spiritual darkness, to the manifestations of Christ, she was seemingly caught in a battle of good and evil, her soul the arena.

Having mentioned these unusual occurrences to her spiritual advisors, ( Rev. M. Sopocko and Fr. J. Andrasz, S.J.) Sister was instructed to keep a diary of these events. Sister also notes in the diary that it was the, "express command of the Lord Jesus, that this diary be written."

On April 30, 1928, Sister Mary Faustina made her first profession of temporary vows, which would be renewed each year for 5 years when she would make her perpetual vows. Her apparitions continued.

February 22, 1931 Sister Faustina had a vision of the Lord which is today for the betterment of the world. Sister writes the following words as spoken to her, by Jesus. (note: Jesus's words are written in red.)

(Diary I (18) 47:Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus I Trust In You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and throughout the whole world.

48:I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory.

Getting permission to have this image painted took some time. Meanwhile in May 1933, Sister makes her perpetual vows. The painted image known as, The Image of Divine Mercy, was executed by artist E. Kazimierowski under the guidance of Sister Faustina. The painting was completed in June 1934, even though Sister was not quite pleased with the outcome of the artist’s work.

On September 13, 1935 sister received another revelation that would go hand in hand with the image, known as the Divine Mercy. The revelation came in the form of a prayer that should by said in front of the Image.

(Diary I (197) 475:Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. In atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world..

476:This prayer will serve to appease My wrath. You will recite it for nine days, on the beads of the Rosary, in the following manner: First of all, you will say one Our Father and Hail Mary and the I believe in God. Then on the Our Father beads you will say the following words: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ for our sins and those of the whole world. On the Hail Mary beads you will say the following words: "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world." In conclusion, three times you will recite these words: "Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world."

Diary II (50) 584:When you reflect upon what I tell you in the depths of your heart, you profit more than if you had read many books. Oh, if souls would only want to listen to My voice when I am speaking in the depths of their hearts, they would reach the peak of holiness in a short time.

Diary II (229) 848:Oh, what great graces I will grant to souls who say this chaplet: the very depths of My tender mercy are stirred for the sake of those who say the chaplet. Write down these words, My daughter. Speak to the world about My mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.

Suffering from different illness, including asthma and tuberculosis Sister’s health began to deteriorate. On April 21, 1938 her superiors decide to send her to the hospital in Pradnik. On August 24, 1938 Sister Faustina writes her last letter to Mother General begging pardon for all the faults of her whole life. Finally she ends with the words: "Till we meet in Heaven."

With nothing else for the hospital to do in regard to improving her condition, Sister Faustina is taken home. On October 5, 1938 Father Andrasz, S.J. arrives and Sister Faustina makes her last confession. At 9:00 p.m. Chaplain Rev. T. Czaputa, together with the sisters pray by her bedside. Sister Faustina conscious to the end, prays with them. At 10:45 Sister Mary Faustina after a long suffering, passes away.

Note to the reader: The information provided here is very basic. The many visions both good and bad, were written down in these diaries as she was instructed to do. Sister Faustina’s diaries were compiled and published in

Polish under the title; Divine Mercy In My Soul. It was later translated and published in English in 1987.

To read Divine Mercy In My soul is an undertaking. It totals 697 pages. However, it is one of the most moving and inspirational books, I have ever read. While reading this book I felt I could almost hear and see Jesus speaking to Sister Faustina. I also felt I shared in her pain and sufferings when she was tormented by the evil of satan.

At the time of her death I do not believe Sister Faustina was aware of her instrumental role in bringing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy to the world who so desperately needs it.

Today thousands and thousands gather at the hour of 3:00 p.m. as it is the time that Jesus requested the Chaplet be said. On their knees in front of the image of the Divine Mercy this beautiful chaplet is said every day around the world.

In ending, there is no doubt in my mind that Divine Mercy is the means by which God will save the world. As without His mercy we would return to the dust from which we came. It is my hope that those who read this come to understand the importance of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and will join me in saying this beautiful and spiritually uplifting devotion. May God Bless you all. Michael webmaster Medjugorje USA.

On the third day He rose again. He Ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead. Amen

11) Optional prayer, "A Prayer of Divine Mercy." O greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out from the abyss of its misery to Your Mercy -- to Your Compassion, O God; and it is with its mighty voice

of misery that it cries out.  Gracious God, do not reject the prayer of this earth's exiles!  O Lord, Goodness beyond our understanding, Who are acquainted with our misery through and through, and know that by our own power we cannot ascend to You, we implore You:  Anticipate us with Your grace and keep on increasing Your mercy in us, that we may faithfully do Your holy will all through our life and at death's hour.  Let the omnipotence of Your Mercy shield us from the darts of our salvation's enemies, that we may with confidence, as Your children, await Your final coming -- that day known to You alone.  And we expect to obtain everything promised us by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness.  For Jesus is our Hope:  Through His Merciful Heart as through an open gate we pass through to heaven.

Encourage souls to place great trust in My fathomless mercy. Let the weak, sinful soul have no fear to approach Me, for even if it had more sins

than there are grains of sand in the world, all would be drowned in the immeasurable depths of My mercy.

( Message to Saint Faustina from Jesus)

Novena to The Divine Mercy which Jesus instructed (Me) Sr. Faustina to write down and make before the feast of Mercy.

I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fount of My mercy, that they may draw there from strength and refreshment and whatever graces they need in the hardships of life and, especially, at the hour of death

On each day you will bring to My Heart a different group of souls, and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy, and I will bring all these souls into the house of My Father. You will do this in this life and in the next. I will deny nothing to any soul whom you will bring to the fount of My mercy. On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My bitter Passion, for graces for these souls.

I answered, "Jesus, I do not know how to make this novena or which souls to bring first into Your Most Compassionate Heart. "Jesus replied that He would tell me which souls to bring each day into His Heart.

Day One

Today, bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter

grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.

Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins, but upon the trust which we place

in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You

by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

O omnipotence of Divine Mercy, Salvation of sinful man, You are a sea of mercy and compassion; You aid him who entreats You with humility.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, show us Your mercy, that we may

praise the omnipotence of Your mercy forever and ever. Amen.

Day Two

Today bring to Me the souls of priests and religious, and immerse them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who gave Me the strength to endure My bitter Passion.Through them, as through channels, My mercy flows out

upon mankind.

Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase Your grace in us, that we may perform worthy works of mercy, and that all who

see us may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven.

The fountain of God's love Dwells in pure hearts, Bathed in the Sea of Mercy, Radiant as stars, bright as the dawn.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the company [of chosen ones in Your vineyard upon the souls of priests and religious; and endow them

with the strength of Your blessing. For the love of the Heart of Your Son, in which they are enfolded, impart to them Your power and light, that they may be able to guide others in the way of salvation, and with one voice

sing praise to Your boundless mercy for ages without end. Amen.

Day Three

Today bring to Me all devout and faithful souls, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. These souls brought Me consolation on the Way of the

Cross. They were that drop of consolation in the midst of an ocean of bitterness.

Most Merciful Jesus, from the treasury of Your mercy,You impart Your graces in great abundance to each and all. Receive us into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart and never let us escape from It. We beg

this of You by that most wondrous love for the heavenly Father with which Your Heart burns so fiercely.

The miracles of mercy are impenetrable.Neither the sinner nor just one will fathom them. When You cast upon us an eye of pity,You draw us all

closer to Your love.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon faithful souls, as upon the inheritance of Your Son. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, grant them Your blessing and surround them with Your constant protection. Thus may

they never fail in love or lose the treasure of the holy faith, but rather, with all the hosts of Angels and Saints, may they glorify Your boundless

mercy for endless ages Amen.

Day Four

Today bring to Me the pagans and those who do not yet know me. I was thinking also of them during My bitter Passion, and their future zeal

comforted My Heart. Immerse them in the ocean of My mercy.

Most Compassionate Jesus, You are the Light of the whole world. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of pagans who

as yet do not know You. Let the rays of Your grace enlighten them that they, too, together with us, may extol Your wonderful mercy; and do not

let them escape from the abode which is Your Most Compassionate Heart.

May the light of Your love Enlighten the souls in darkness; Grant that these souls will know You And, together with us, praise Your mercy.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of pagans and of those who as yet do not know You, but who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Draw them to the light of the Gospel.

These souls do not know what great happiness it is to love You. Grant that they, too, may extol the generosity of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Day 5

Today bring to Me the souls of heretics and schismatics, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My

Body and Heart; that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church, My wounds heal, and in this way they alleviate My Passion.

Most Merciful Jesus, Goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it of You. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of heretics and schismatics. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the Church, and do not let them escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; but bring it about that they, too, come to

adore the generosity of Your mercy.

Even for those who have torn the garment of Your unity, A fount of mercy flows from Your Heart. The omnipotence of Your mercy, 0 God, Can lead

these souls also out of error.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of heretics and schismatics, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your

graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love of Your own Son and upon His bitter Passion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Bring it about that they also may

glorify Your great mercy for endless ages .Amen.

Day Six

Today bring to Me the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely

resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who would keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is able to receive My

grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence.

Most Merciful Jesus, You yourself have said, "Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart." Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate

Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy, and they are the heavenly Father's favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God;

God himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, 0 Jesus, and they

unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy

A truly gentle and humble soul Already here on earth the air of paradise breathes, And in the fragrance of her humble heart The Creator Himself

delights.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek and humble souls, and upon the souls of little children, who are enfolded in the abode which is

the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and

reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You

by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them:bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your

mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Day Seven

Today bring to Me the souls who especially venerate and glorify My mercy, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls sorrowed most over

My Passion and entered most deeply into My Spirit. They are living images of My Compassionate Heart. These souls will shine with a special

brightness in the next life. Not one of them will go into the fire of hell. I shall particularly defend each one of them at the hour of death.

Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with

the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy. These souls are

united to Jesus and carry all mankind on their shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from this life. A soul who praises the goodness of her Lord She is always

close to the living fountain And draws graces from Mercy Divine.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute, that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls are a

living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their spirit, overflowing with joy, sings a canticle of mercy to You, 0 Most High! I beg You 0 God: Show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them the promise of

Jesus, who said to them, I Myself will defend as My own glory, during their lifetime, and especially at the hour of their death, those souls who will

venerate My fathomless mercy. Amen

Day8

Today bring to Me the souls who are in the prison of Purgatory, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They

are making retribution to My justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the treasury of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the torments they suffer, you

would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit and pay off their debt to My justice.

Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make

retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of the purifying fire, that

in that place, too, the power of Your mercy may be praised.

From the terrible heat of the cleansing fire Rises a plaint to Your mercy, And they receive comfort, refreshment, relief In the stream of mingled

Blood and Water.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I

beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded, manifest Your

mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way than through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion.

Amen

Day Nine

Today bring to Me souls who have become lukewarm, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because

of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: "Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will." For them, the last hope of salvation is to

flee to My mercy.

Most compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love let these tepid souls, who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. 0 Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise

the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardour of Your love; and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is

beyond Your power.

Fire and ice cannot be joined; Either the fire dies, or the ice melts. But by Your mercy, 0 God, You can make up for all that is lacking.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls, who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour

agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy....Amen.

Mercy Sunday(the first Sunday after Easter)

Jesus said to Sister M. Faustina

Notebook II, 699, (138-139).

My daughter tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially

for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach

the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and

punishment. On that day are open all the divine floodgates through which graces flow. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even thought its sins be

as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has

come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is my

desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.

The  Hour of  Mercy

During one of her many apparitions, Jesus gave Saint Maria Faustina instruction for a devotional called “The Chaplet of Divine Mercy.” Jesus recommends reciting this devotion at the 3 o’clock hour. Many also believe 3’clock is the same hour Jesus gave up His spirit on the cross. As such, the 3 o’clock hour is considered to be the greatest hour to obtain the mercy of God. Many parishes throughout the world now offer a Chaplet of Mercy at 3:00 p.m. There is yet another option not often considered.

I have a friend who reminded me there is a 3 p.m. and a 3 a.m. He strongly believes the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is an important tool in the salvation of this world. He feels the world has need of so many prayers he would not only offers the Chaplet of Mercy at 3 p.m. but also at 3 a.m. He has done this for so many years and claims he now has an automatic internal alarm clock. Waking, he says the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and when finished he rolls over and goes back to sleep.

In early February 2012, I received an email from another man who told me for years he has been saying the Mercy Chaplet at 3 a.m. He also does the Chaplet at 3 p.m. but told me at 3 a.m. there is stillness in the world and it makes his prayers feel so much more meaningful. He asked if Medjugorje USA would consider writing an article extending an invitation to others asking they consider offering the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 a.m.

For me personally I thought the idea of offering prayer at 3 a.m. may not be such a good idea. Awake at 3 a.m. not being able to go back to sleep after praying just sounded exhausting to me. The other thing is, I did not think myself disciplined enough to wake up night after night. However much to my surprise, lately I find myself waking during the 3:00 a.m. hour.  At first my thought was to roll back over for more sleep but instead I offered the Mercy Chaplet. No question there is stillness in the night which seems to offer soulful prayer not interrupted by the sounds of daily life. I also felt my prayers at this hour are deeper and more focused. Whenever I feel focused on prayer and it reaches the deepness in my soul, I call this “prayer from the heart.”

I don’t know I can faithfully wake during the 3 a.m. hour but I made a promise from now on to offer a Chaplet of Divine Mercy if I do wake up because I know this world needs all the prayers we can offer.

Above all things we know God desires not one poor soul on earth be lost to the evils that seek ruin. Just maybe “The Chaplet of Divine Mercy” recited at 3 a.m. can help those who are far away from God and so much in need of our prayers.
