P&ID – Jedson Program
Piping Routing Primary/secondary line. How to draw a primary/secondary line?
2-
We define size(diameter) - plan no. Properties
Determined in 2 ways:
a) Properties of line( right bottom of window). b) Labels (In piping Labels…)
Define constants status:
▪ New ▪ Existing ▪ Future. 3- Valves – Catalog Explorer
Valves → choose type of valves → Determine size + diameter consistency .
Then: label for valves → piping components → commodity code → Nominal diameter.
Plug= miniature cap.
Get the plug from fittings (piping → fittings→pipe comp.)
2 ways to move fittings move OR drag
NB:
-
In order to stop termination inconsistency Fittings → end components → End of line
Flow Direction-
: Label piping segment flow direction. Text
- Sensors, Pressure gauge… Under Instruments
: Design Annotation Labels Item notes & Labels (Then fill in note text-properties)
Different types of links – and most common:
- Connect to process - Electric line - Software link
Are found in Instrumentation Signal line. How to find the instruments? Instrumentation:
- Actuators - Gaps
.
.
. Disc single line ⃝ where? Disc: Instrumentation Offline Without implied Components DCS
: Instrumentation Offline In system Functions.
Arrows – for electrical wires- From Design NBSelect all instruments by Ctrl, then modify in properties window.
: Don’t leave an instrument without drawing code.
For instruments: change sequence no. , Measured variable and instrument type.

Breakers
Piping Segment breaker
:
Reducer
In fittings Diameter Change.
:
1. Get reducer 2. Label 3. Info for label 4. Valves 5. Electrical lines 6. Processes
5 most common types of breakers:
Diameter / Group / Insulation / Heat Tracing / Material
We have to always put the flow direction in:
Piping pipe segments flow direction
Ball valve: always full port.
