Two empty seats at graduation . . . When 2016 graduation cer- emonies commence tonight, Wednesday, May 25th, there will be two empty seats in the area that is reserved for gradu- ating seniors of Estill County High School’s Class of 2016. As was the tradition of past years, the two seats will be left empty in memory of two Estill County students who left this world far too soon. Those remembered areTony Allen Conatser Conley who died Friday, May 17, 2013 at the age of 16, and Christopher Lee Gregory, who reached his senior year of high school but passed away on March 16th of this year at the age of 19. Conley was born in Ports- mouth, Ohio, but spent the last 13 years of his life in Estill County where he was remem- bered as “a happy, fun-lov- ing, caring, young man who touched many people in many ways.” He lived his short life to the fullest and “ALWAYS had a smile to brighten the day of anyone he knew or just met.” He had just finished his freshman year at Estill County High School and was a proud member of the football team and the ROTC; was a good student, and had many other interests. It was said that he was a “GREAT FRIEND” to all he knew. He is survived by his mother “and BEST friend,” Lisa Con- ley-Conatser; his stepfather, his father, a sister, brothers, other family members, and his other family which was his Engineers football and ROTC family. Christopher Lee Gregory passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 the the Uni- versity of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, after a short ill- ness. He was born in Estill County and had lived here all of his life where he attended Drip Rock Baptist Church. He loved #48 Jimmy John- son, fishing, riding his bike, go carts and four wheeling. He loved competing when it came to UNO and bowling! Those who knew him say, “He was an awesome kid!!” His favorite saying was “It’s NOT an option!!” He said Trump was gonna’ be our new President. If you ever wanted to know what the weather was gonna’ be, he was your man!! Survivors include his moth- er, Amanda Grace Cox; his father, Coy Gregory; his step- father, Stevie Cox, grandpar- ents, five sisters and other family members; his school- mates and teachers. Friends say “his smile was worth a million bucks! He made this world a brighter place and now Heaven has gained a very special angel.” Tony Conatser Conley Christopher Lee Gregory Page 2, The Estill County Tribune, May 25, 2016 Members of the Estill County Middle School Student Council posed for a photo before the annual Spring Fling on Friday night.
