Model F400-1

Description

The Model F400-1 Fitting Tool has beendesigned to provide long lasting quality opera-tion with easy to use features. It’s primarypurpose is to drive pins, points and nails intowood picture frame moulding to securely holdframing materials in place. The Model F400-1Fitting Tool features a unique and revolution-ary rotating turret to accommodate all of themost popular style points.

PreparationA. Fill frame 1. Turn over frame.2. Load glass, matboard and image andbacking material into frame (Fig. 1).

B. Choose an insert (Fig. 2).1. Flexible Insert- Bendable insert usedin photo frames where material caneasily be changed.Brad Nails - Economical insert. C. Determine insert spacing and quantity1. Corner spacing is generally 1” (3cm)to 2” (5cm) from corner.

2. Side spacing is generally 4” (10cm)to 5” (13cm) apart (Fig. 4).

OperationA. Driving Insert1. Slide foot away from turret.2. Load insert into turret slot. Be surepoint end faces out (Fig. 5).

3. Align body and tip of insert againstframe. Rest body on framing materi-al. Slide foot until bumper rests firm-ly against frame (Fig. 6).

4. Firmly squeeze handle and drive insert into the wood until turret stopsagainst frame (Fig. 7).Note-for best results keep body flat on material while squeezing.

5. Squeeze lock plate on foot and rotate foot to release (Fig. 8).6. Slide body back along top of framing material to remove from insert. Donot lift up, but rather pull straight back.

7. Repeat to finish.

Trouble ShootingProblem:Points bend when being inserted.

Solution:Try using a different insert more suited to hardwood.

Make sure the turret is resting flush on back material being framed.

Problem:Mats or framed material buckles after being secured.

Solution:Let the turret rest gently on back of material when inserting points.Do not angle inserts down to “pinch” material being secured.

Problem:Fitting Tool handle does not release after point insertion.

Solution:Release pressure by squeezing lock plate on the foot and swivel footto clear moulding, then withdraw turret in opposite direction of insertion.

WarrantyLogan Graphic Products, Inc. (“Logan”) warrants the Fitting Tool -Model F400-1, to be free from defects in parts and workmanship for aperiod of one year from the date of original purchase. Logan warrantsthat it will either repair or replace, at it’s sole discretion, any neces-sary replacement parts found to be defective. Should the product

need to be returned to Logan for repair or replacement parts, authori-zation for any return must come from Logan in writing. Costs of

returning the product to Logan, including insurances, shall be borneby the purchaser. Logan shall not be liable for any damages or losses,incidental or consequential, direct or indirect, arising from the use ofthis product. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser andis not assignable or transferable. This warranty is in lieu of all other

warranties, expressed or implied.

5. Serrer la plaque de verroucontre le sabot et faire piv-oter celui-ci pour le libérer(Fig. 8).

6. Faire coulisser le corps enarrière le long de l’arêtesupérieure du matériaud’encadrement pour ledétacher de l'insert.

7. Recommencer pour com-pléter l’opération.

4. Apriete firmemente la mani-ja y empuje la punta dentrode la madera hasta que latorreta se detenga contra elmarco (Fig. 7) Nota – Para mejores resul-tados mantenga el cuerpoplano sobre el materialmientras aprieta.

5. Apriete la placa asegurado-ra sobre el pie y rote el piepara soltar (Fig. 8).

6. Deslice el cuerpo haciaatrás encima del materialde enmarcado para retirar-lo de la punta.

5. Stringere la piastra dibloccaggio sul piede eruotare il piede per rilasciare (Fig. 8).

6. Far scorrere il corpo indi-etro lungo la parte superi-ore del materiale di incorni-ciatura per rimuoverlo daltassello.

7. Ripetere l’operazione fino arisultato ottenuto.

Problème :Les pointes se tordent quand elles sontinsérées.Solution :Essayer d’utiliser un insert différent, mieuxadapté au bois dur.S’assurer que la tourelle repose en affleurantsur le matériau de support en cours d’en-cadrement.Problème :Les caches ou le matériau encadré ondulentaprès avoir été fixés.Solution :Laisser la tourelle reposer doucement sur l’ar-rière du matériau lors de l’insertion de pointes.Ne pas incliner les inserts vers le bas pour « pincer » le matériau en cours de fixation.Problème :La poignée de l’outil d’ajustage ne se relâchepas après l’insertion des pointes.Solution :Relâcher la pression en serrant la plaque deverrou sur le sabot, pivoter le sabot pourdégager la moulure puis retirer la tourelle dansla direction opposée de l’insert.

Vermeiden Sie es, das Werkzeug in einemanderen Winkel anzulegen, und den Stift nachunten in die Leiste „einzustechen".Problem:Der Hebelgriff des Werkzeugs löst sich nachdem Einstiften nicht. Lösung:Verringern Sie den Druck, indem Sie zuerst dieArretierungsplatte lösen und den Fuß von derLeiste wegschieben. Ziehen Sie nun dasWerkzeug mit dem Stiftemagazin in entge-gengesetzter Richtung vom Stift weg.
