Log in using your usual user name and password. If you are enrolled (or have been enrolled) for more than one course you may be presented with options for which course you wish to select modules for; please select the course you wish to select modules for and click ‘select for session’.

Next you will see the page with your “Inbox” where your UHI Records messages are displayed. At this point you should click to select “Student Hub” at the top of the page. Select “Pick your modules” which will lead you to where you can complete the module selection process.

PLEASE NOTE – this module selection process screen will only be presented if you have selections to make. Where all modules are compulsory you will simply see a list of the modules that have been assigned to you for your information.

Compulsory Units (Core/Mandatory)

When you reach the online module selection page you will see a screen similar to this:

Compulsory modules - not all courses have compulsory modules so there may be occasions where this section will not be displayed. These modules are presented for information only; the system will automatically select these for you.

Status GEN Generated – this means we are awaiting your module choices.

Your course details – if incorrect please contact your local registry department in the first instance. Please note that the mode of attendance shown is your attendance mode when you first started study on the course. If you have moved from full time to part time study then this will still show as ‘Full-time’.

Optional Units

The details of the modules you can choose from are held in the module option blocks. Usually, different blocks indicate different semesters. Click on the “View List” button to pull down a list of all of the modules available in each block. You must select the correct number of modules according to the instructions provided on screen.

Submitting Choices and Approval / Rejection

Once you are happy with your selection select “Submit Selections” on the bottom right of the screen.

Module Selection Section shows details of any Optional modules that you have selected. If you want to remove any modules click on the trash can icon beside the module.

Rules surrounding the Option Block are detailed here. Important notes regarding electives On some courses, you are able to take a free elective which is an optional module from another course within the University, or a module from a different level. Where this is available to you, you will be able to see a module titled ‘UELECTIVE’. If you are planning to take a free elective you must select the ULECTIVE module code as one of your options. Before you select a UELECTIVE you should discuss this with your PAT to ensure this fits in with progression on your course. Once this has been agreed, your Personal Academic Tutor will arrange for your chosen module to be added to your student record.

Click View List to see the modules that are available to you. Select “Add” beside a module if you wish to add the module to your selection area.

Incorrect Selections

If there is a problem with the selections that you have made you will see the error box below,

This error may be because you

have not selected the correct number of modules or

you have selected too many modules in one semester When you close the error box you should see a red X over the block where there is a problem. Using the trash can icon, you can delete selections and make alternative selections as appropriate before hitting the ‘Submit Selections’ button again. If you are experiencing difficulties please raise a Servicedesk ticket and a member of the SRO team will be able to advise you.

Remember to click on the submit button!

Successful Selections

If your selections have been submitted successfully, you should see a green tick under “Modules selected” on this Student Hub homepage as pictured below: Your selections have now been submitted.

After submission your choices will be reviewed and you will be notified if there are any issues. Completion of this process will also ensure that you are added to the correct VLE spaces in Blackboard.

VLE spaces generally become available a week before teaching starts at the beginning of each semester.

Please remember …. If you decide to leave your studies with UHI, please let your Personal Academic Tutor know as soon as possible. Having this information means that we can update your student record and ensure that you are issued with any awards that you may be eligible for. We will contact you over the summer to ask you to re-enrol on your programme for 2018/19. Enrolment is a critical process as it ensures that you have current student status, confirms that you are continuing study with SAAS/SLC and ensures that your access to student resources and the VLE continues for another year. Keep an eye on your UHI email account for further details in due course. Many thanks for helping us keep your records up to date Student Records Office ([email protected])
