Nothing says summer like a picnic fun. This versatile set has lots of possibilities. The strawberry basket can be layered in several ways. You can add the weave marks to run ribbon through the basket or leave them off to use the file as a canning label or tag. The strawberries can attach to an insert to pull up out of the basket with your special message to be used as a card. But that is not all that you might find in your basket. There just may be some friendly critters along for the ride. . A tisket, atasket What’s in your P icnic Basket?

Have you always wanted to create the perfect eye but always had a hard time achieving thelook you’re after? Well, I have come up with a solution that uses a Print n Cut Technique.

This tutorial uses Make the Cut Software along with Printable Eyes by MyScrapChick.com.You can download the file HerePermission has been given to use the file to create this tutorial. Thank you MyScrapChick!

Although I’m using Make the Cut for this tutorial, I’m sure other Electronic Cuttersoftware that can import a PDF may work. For example Scal 3, which I have not tested.

Download the PDF and save it to your computer. Make anote where you saved the file.

Now, the first thing you’ll want to do is import the PDFinto Make the Cut. Click on the <Import PDF> icon inyour program, find the file on your computer and click

<open> import the file.

After Importing the file, this is what you should have.

Now we’re going to break apart the layersto work on them.

Now we’ll click on the imported faces to select them, click onthe <break> icon.

You can find these tools along the left hand side of yourscreen or to the bottom of your screen depending on

where you have them docked.

Once the faces have been broken apart, this is what youshould have.

►Vestibulum velit orci, bibendum eget, molestie eu,►Nullam sed enim.►Aliquam dapibus ipsum vitae sem. Ut eget mauris

Next, what you want to do is <left click> on your mousebutton and draw a box around one of the faces and move it to

a new layer by clicking on the small<+> sign in your Layers Properties Box.

►Vestibulum velit orci, bibendum eget, molestie eu,►Nullam sed enim.►Aliquam dapibus ipsum vitae sem. Ut eget mauris

This is what your layers should now look like.

You want to delete the layer with all the faces, click on the red <X>

Now we are going to delete all the unwanted layers we don’tneed.

But first, click on the circle face and put it on a<new layer> andmove it to the bottom using the up and down <green arrow keys>.

Change the color to white and lock the layer by clicking on the<lock> icon. This is what you should have.

Now delete the straight line. Select your eyes and resize themlarger so we can work on them. Each of the eye layers contain

2 shapes each, so you’ll need to click on each extra layer todelete them.

This is what you should have now.

Also, go ahead and delete all the lashes on the left eye. Wewon’t be needing them.

I colored all my layers accordingly and set my mat oncontrast. You can change the colors of your layers byclicking on the little icon above the pad lock that shows a

color grid.

Now, select your lash pieces and put them on a separate layer. You will move that layer under your eye layer by clicking on the<green down arrow>. Your layers should now look like this.

Now, <lock> your eyes layer so they don’tmove during the next step. Click on the little

green pad lock to lock it.

Now we are going to create our lashes.

Make sure you are on your lash layer for this nextstep, you’ll want to copy and paste the lash pieces

and arrange them along the outer edge of your eye.You want to alternate the lashes to make the eye looknatural. You can rotate and mirror the lashes etc. Youshould have something like this. <Lock> this layer.

Next, we are going to create the catch lights of the eye. Youwant to duplicate the small white circle of the eye and resize it

accordingly. Place them on a new layer. Next, you’ll want to copy, paste and mirror them. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move them into position on the second eye. <Lock> this layer.

Your eyes should look something like this now.

►Vestibulum velit orci, bibendum eget, molestie eu,►Nullam sed enim.►Aliquam dapibus ipsum vitae sem. Ut eget mauris

<Unlock> your lash layer, select your lashes, you want to copyand paste them onto a new layer. While they are still selected, mirror them. Move this layer beneathe the eye layer. Once

again using your <arrow> keys move them into position on thesecond eye. <Lock> your lash layers.

Your eyes should now look like this.

Next we are going to <unlock> our eye layer. You want to copyand paste the whites of the eye and place them on their own lay-er. They can remain on top for the next step. Now, <re-lock>

your eye layer and the catch lights of the eyes and hide them bothby clicking on the <eye> Icon in your Layer Properties Box.

Your eyes should now look like this. So the onlythings you should have showing are the lashes,

your head and the duplicate whites of your eyes.

Now, go to File - Print Options - and make sure ShowPaper on Mat and Print Shapes Outlines are checked. Click

OK.

The machine I have right now does not have a print and cut feature. I have toprint my head onto carstock and hand cut it. I use Recollections carstock

when doing this technique because it goes through my printer just fine.

Now for those who use other machines that can handle Print n Cut, you willchange a step or 2. Also, test this on scrap paper first before printing on the

cardstock you want to use.

Once your head is printed, then using the <eye> icon, hide all the layers. Now <unhide> just the colored eye layer and the small catch lights layer.

Print them out on either matte or glossy photo paper or even white carstock. If your machine does have a Print n Cut feature, you’ll need to hand cut them.If using another machine use the Print N Cut technique. Adhere them to your

face. You can do some shading on the lashes and under the eye area a bitbeofore you adhering them.

Now that you have completed the tutorial, get creative and put your ownspin on your eyes. I used the Cresent shape and Node Editing tools from within

Make the Cut to also add a little slant on the eye.

Now when creating your faces all you have to do is re-color or re-size your eyes. You will have the perfect eye every time.

I hope you have found this tutorial useful. If you use this technique, please creditmyself and MyScrapChick.
