Dear Parent, Bring out the musician inside your child! The Eagles After School program is pleased to announce the launch of Piano & Violin lessons taught by well qualified instructors. Piano lessons will lay the foundation for all further music study. Violin students can get a head start on the Violin program at their school, or add that oneonone attention needed to take their playing to the next level! All schoolage students welcome. Come and start a musical journey that will last a lifetime! Meet Our Teachers: Melissa Macy has a Bachelor's of Music from the Eastman School of music in Music Education and Violin Performance. She also holds a Master's degree in Violin Performance from the Conservatory at SUNY Purchase. Since graduating, she has spent five years teaching orchestra in the Bergenfield public school system, as well as private violin and piano individual lessons. Melissa continues to perform in orchestras and chamber music groups throughout the area. As an educator, Melissa hopes to instill a love and deep appreciation for music in her students as she teaches them the skills necessary for lifelong participation in musical performance. Rebecca Karle received her degree in music education from The College of New Jersey where she specialized in violin. During her studies, she served as concertmaster of The College of New Jersey orchestra. Since college, she has been teaching strings in the Basking Ridge school system as well as teaching private violin lessons. She is a proud member of the American String Teachers Association and currently performs with the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed in many chamber ensembles and various other summer programs. Mrs. Karle is married and has a baby boy. Joyce Breur has been a teacher at Eastern Christian Middle School for seventeen years. During her first year at ECMS, she taught chorus and music appreciation. Along with teaching, Joyce has taught piano lessons to all ages, directed children’s choir and senior choir at her church, and has been playing the organ since the age of sixteen. She is currently the organist at Living Word Reformed Church in North Haledon and also coaccompanies choir rehearsals. Joyce has a deep love for music and enjoys teaching future pianists so that they will also develop a love and appreciation for music.
