Project Sell to US Piaggio dealers 200 Typhoon scooters before new gas emission laws came to effect.
Piaggio Europe’s largest manufacturer of two-wheeled vehicles; Piaggio is known throughout the world for their superior technology, craftsmanship & design. Piaggio is the manufacturer of the Vespa brand.
Issues and Challenges • Identify a core project that allowed the company to sell to their dealers and ultimately to the final consumer 200 scooters within a 10-month period. • Lack of popularity of this particular scooter model. • Limited Budget

Our Involvement We researched, strategized and implemented a marketing project that would generate a fairly quick sell-in & sell-out of the Typhoon scooter. A strategic alliance with Champ Car World Series, a racing organization, and with the racing team Newman-Haas co-owned by the late Paul Newman was achieved.
Through out this period, several event activations that included dealer participation at every US Champ Car event were conducted; actor Paul Newman was involved in the promotion, as he rode the scooter at the events he attended
Results • Approximately 150 scooters were sold.
• The Piaggio brand obtained significant exposure throughout the racing season.
• The brand was prominently featured on Speed TV and other media outlets.
