This was our first foray into this event, which was held at Karinya Reserve, Eden Hills:

Two reports from those who participated:

“The performance went well, given that it was outdoors. Pauline conducted, Chris played our new keyboard and John

Mitchell was MC. The music was well received by the audience. Thanks were given publicly to Rotary for their gift towards

the purchase of the keyboard.” (JM).

“About a dozen of us presented ourselves at the Rotary Christmas Fair at the Karinya Reserve, Blackwood to sing a short

program of music from our Bossa Nova concert. We sang to a small audience to start with, but which grew as we per-

formed. Chris Matters had trouble with the music blowing away – thank goodness for pegs! Pauline Brinkworth conducted

the four sopranos, 4 contraltos and 4 men standing on a 1 foot high „stage‟ with microphones at the front which „picked up‟

the women, but not the men!

We sang nine songs culminating in “All That Jazz” which was very well received. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Blackwood

for inviting us.” NL.
