As a group we decided for our music video we would locate it in our schools drama studio. This was because we could then create the illusion of the video being set anywhere not a specific place, the audience could then really focus on whats happening with the narrative and the artist himself not getting distracted by the location. Our drama studio can be completely blacked out as it has curtains trailing around the entire room. We would use this to our advantage when lighting an area or even making one shot a specific colour as no outside daylight would interfear. For our two girl actresses within the video we decided that they would wear a tight black dress or skirts to make them look provocative. They could then be at a party or within the boys mind throughout the video creating questions for the audience. With the main actor playing the artist we decided he would wear a shirt with a button or two undun. This was to create a smart look whatever shot he was in. One of our group members owned a smoke machine and we all thought that it would be a good effect to use within the video as some shots were designed to be within the artists imagination and the smoke machine would really help to create this illusion.

The Weeknd has connotations of balloons as all the album covers he has released have images of balloons on them and as he never made videos this is all his fans had to relate him and a way for them to get to know him. With balloons already connoting to The Weeknd we thought we would use them to also create a party effect within the video and almost make it like a dream in the audience mind.

Within our music video we decided that we would create a game of poker going on with the girls and then use this to show exactly who won and then in the end won the boy. By using the exact items used in a real poker game, e.g cards chips and money, we could create a realistic situation and show the audience a real poker game. By playing a game of poker the camera man could also get shots in a variety of ways instead of us pretending to play and then the camera man would have to use what we have, whereas this way we could show the exact game and create new camera angles and ideas.

Conventionally in R&B music videos alcohol is used to promote the artist and the amount of money they have and the alcohol they can afford. Although in our music video we developed this idea and used the alcohol to show the girls playing poker were having a good time fighting for the boy.
