Photog ClassIntended to introduce

photography to beginners, as well as

enhance the skills of the advanced.

Open to both Juniors and

Seniors!

Class Req’ts:•Access to a working SLR camera (preferrably digital, but film is okay)•Access to a computer•Willingness to sacrifice their lunchbreaks for double periods

Topics will include:

• Basics: camera parts, exposure, focal lengths, and other fundamentals

• Composition, imagery, semiotics

• Genre photography (photojournalism, documentary, fashion, sports, fine art, travel, portraiture)

• Advanced techniques

The activities lined up for the year:

• Lectures, discussions, and screenings

• Brainstorming, projects, and critiques

• A lot of photo shoots

• 2-3 out-of-school location shoots (a.k.a. fieldtrips)

• Guest speakers and seminars

And lastly,

BAWAL TAMAD!

Expect weekly individual/group homeworksthat will require everything from conceptualizing,

shooting, editing, and even critiquing.
