Front Cover Photo

This is the picture I will choose for my front cover it was took off a 5 mp camera phone. It took a couple of tries to get the right shot to look just right. It is a low shot

to emphasise the walls around him but also to make more of him fit into the

frame. There is also a canted angle to the photo. I took the photo down an alleyway as it seemed right to the genre and hip hop culture. I also told rob to wear the

clothes he is wearing in the photo as they are pretty street things to wear, especially

the baseball cap. I thought the headphones where especially important as I know that breakdancers and rappers

listen to their music all the time. I was happy with this photo and I think it looks

good and fits the magazine genre.

This is the other photo I took for my front page, I didn’t like it as it didn’t look right compared with the other photo. The colour is a bit dull and his stance isn't right, he was standing square on to camera not at a angle which I wanted.

This is the picture I want to use for my contents page. Like the photo for the front page it is a low angle but lower to make Rob look bigger. It is also a medium long shot which makes rob fit into the frame up to his knees. I also like it as there is room around Rob too photo shop writing in. Again down a alleyway it sets the theme better than the other photos I took, there is also the fact that it looks quite street as well. I also told Rob to look quite confident, rappers and dancers need to be confident so he looks like a rapper.

Contents Page Photo

This photo is in the contents page as well, it shows Rob listening to music through headphones. It is important as that is one of the main things a rapper does, is listen to hip hop.

This is the other photo that I took for the contents page. I didn’t like it as much but I liked it for the graffiti which is part of the hip hop culture.

This is going to be my main photo for my double page spread. This photo is at eye level and is a long shot. The background is two trees and a gate which looks like those old elevator shaft gates to get down into underground rap battles in America. I also like this photo for the lighting as it is quite bright on his upper half but it isn't harsh light as you can make out everything, I quite like that effect. his stance was important as well as he looks like a rapper he had to be a rapper so I told him to stand as if he was ready to battle.
