You will need a 35 mm SLR camera with manual controls in
working condition. There are two basic types of 35 mm SLR cameras:
manual and automatic For an overview of the differences read
chapter 1 in the textbook. Either kind of camera will be ok for

the past few months on Amazon. This cameras is not worth spending

king of basic, meat and potatoes cameras, this camera can still be

Nikon made (and still makes) an extensive line of film cameras
including the FE, FM, and F 1-5 series. For more information and

35mm SLR camera was a Minolta SRT 101 given to me by my father. I
then used the 201 model through my undergraduate college courses.
They not only hold segmental value for me, but are great basic
cameras. I now own a Minolta X-700, the last non-auto focus film

The following supplies are available from the college bookstore
and other local and online sources. For examples of what these
items look like, click on each link: Ilford 8x10 RC Paper Ilford
8x10 RC Paper (available with two rolls of film!) 25 sheets
minimum- DO NOT OPEN until you are working under safe-lights!!!
Kodak Tri-X 400 film Kodak Tri-X 400 film or Ilford HP 5+ 35 mm
film.Ilford HP 5+ Negative File Sleeves (7 rows/5 columns) (6+)
Hand towels- VERY IMPORTANT!!! You will be washing and drying your
hands a lot in the darkroom. Mat board 5 sheets (photo 1), 10
sheets (photo 2), 11x14, white. Note: this will be available in the
bookstore ASAP OPTIONAL TEXT/COURSE MATERIALS Digital camera
-useful for learning camera controls. Tripod- necessary for using
low shutter speeds and useful for self-portraits. Flash- for low
light and indoor photography, also useful for fill-in flash.
