All of the men have either beards or moustaches. Two of the uniforms have a double row of braid around the jacket sleeves. The top row has an inverted 'v' above it. Two uniforms have a single row of braid with the inverted 'v'. The fifth uniform doesn't appear to have any braid. All of the men wear caps. The background consists of trees and shrubs. An inscription of the folder has been scribbled out but appears to have read "To Grandfather From George" (approx 20 x 15 cm.)

The man is seated between the second woman and the girl. He is beared and is wearing a suit, watch chain and is holding a cane/stick. The woman to his right is dress in dark clothing with a contrast fabric on the stand-up collar and the sleeve 'cuffs'.The girl has long hair with some of it falling over her right shoulder. The yoke of her dress appears to be pin tucked, the upper portion of the sleeve is smocked with the sleeve ends gathered into a cuff.
