Denisse Serrano, PA-C received her undergraduatedegree from Rutgers University and physician assistant degreefrom UMDNJ. Bin Bin Fan is a graduate of Cornell Universityand completed his physician assistant program at the Penn StateUniversity. Both providers underwent vigorous post-graduateDermatology training both outside and within SCN. SCNDermatology is also uniquely multi-lingual with staff andproviders fluent in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, andPortuguese.

Acne is usually a multifactorial diseaseand many genetic and environmentalcauses can affect disease onset andprogression. If there are anyunderlying medical conditions thatcan affect acne (ex: hormonalirregularity) such condition should beidentified and treated first.

A combination of medical treatmentmodalities, such as topical retinoids,oral antibiotics, and Accutane can beinitiated per each patients’ need.Additional medical therapies such asphotodynamic therapy or highfrequency wave therapy can beconsidered.

We believe that every acne patient is unique and that a ‘tailored’ medical therapy is necessary to achieve optimal

outcome.

Acne often can be a disfiguringcondition that can lead to formation ofpermanent to semi-permanent scarformation. Often times, there are alsochanges in the skin texture, pore size,and vascular distribution that canoccur.

At SCN Dermatology, each patient’scosmetic concerns can be addressed byemploying an array of state-of-artlaser technology, such as FractionalLaser therapy, as well as non-laserbased cosmetic treatment modalities,such as microneedling therapy withPlasma Rich Platelets (P.R.P.).

Based on the activity of the condition and the patient’s skin type and color, appropriate and safe treatment modality will be

offered.

Acne is a chronic skin condition andthe majority of patients need someform of continual maintenancetherapies.

SCN Dermatology will designappropriate home therapy usinghome-care products developed in-house. In conjunction, we willrecommend specific maintenance skintherapies, such as Aqua peel andvarious chemical peeling treatment toactively maintain treated skin. Alltherapies are performed by providersthemselves or by our licenseaestheticians of SCN Dermatology,who are trained and supervised byphysicians.

Medispa treatments are designed to be synergistic with ongoing medical cosmetic therapies.
