Poverty, yeah a topic we always see on news. We could be easily moved when we were watching those photos showing bones African children holding a cock looking into your eyes with their pure soul. Then you probably would feel like a rush of

blood to your head that make you want to do something for them at the moment but after a while you would go back to your n o r m a l l i f e d r i n k i n g Starbucks and eating cupcakes. However the truth is people are getting numb

about poverty. You were only moved when you were reading them on news. After that you would keep walking on road and pretend nothing happened when you saw some homeless people asking change from you.

Homelessness has increased for three consecutive years, partly because of housing shortages and cuts to benefits, with an estimated 185,000 people a year now affected in England, a report says. Homeless people, I call them the silent group because they near speak for themselves even they are one of the most vulnerable group in the UK.

To be legally defined as homeless you must either lack a secure place in which you are entitled to live or not reasonably be able to stay in your current accommodation. However, in order for your local authority to have a duty to find you housing, there are further strict criteria that you have to meet. The housing a local authority provides to households who meet these criteria, mainly families with children, may initially be temporary accommodation.

The other man Evan told me that the reason why he live on street now is because he spend all his money on drug. “There was one time I was sitting near Fishergate there was a man bought me a coffee, it was so warm I still remember what his face looks like, ” he said.

After we talked, Evan has been driven away by from a security guard.
