1. I had a boiling hot shower and then I fed the cows in the barn. 2. The teacher said ‘Be quiet!’ in a loud voice because the children were being noisy. 3. I packed my towel and swimming costume then I joined my friends at the pool.

Writing Mission: 30 minutes

Today’s challenge is a puzzle challenge. Your first mission is to read the first two riddles and see if you can guess what minibeasts they are about and draw pictures. Your second mission is to write a short riddle about a butterfly using the pronoun ‘I’. You should give three short clues and then write an ‘I am’ sentence explaining what minibeast you are. Use the word mat to help you! Once you have written a riddle for the butterfly, you can then choose another minibeast and write a riddle for that creature. You can then illustrate your riddle with a picture of the minibeast you chose, Happy riddling!

Maths Mission: 30 minutes

Can you complete my addition equations below? Start by putting the first number in your head and use your fingers or a number line to see how many more you need to add on. Remember the answer can come at the start or end of the equation.

Extension 1: See how quickly you can answer the addition equations below. Top Tip: Put the biggest number in your head and then hold up the second number on your fingers and count on. e.g. 6+4= = 6+4

Topic Mission: Day 2

Can you match the descriptions to the minibeasts? I will turn into something with wings. I came out of a chrysalis. I have spots! I have no legs and am wriggly. I have 8 legs. I am very busy making honey! I have a slimy trail. I am very strong and live in a nest. For fun, you could make a lift the flap poster. Write your own description on a leaf, draw the minibeast you have described underneath, and then stick the leaf over the minibeast so that it lifts up like a flap!
