Pre-SchoolStorytime The storytime hour provides an opportunity for our new kindergarten students and parents for 2020 to

come together as a community to meet and greet one another before the start of the new school year.

During the hour, the pre-schoolers will listen to stories and immerse in drama activities around a weekly

theme to develop a love of books and become familiar with the library environment.

It also provides the opportunity for you to visit our fabulous school library and meet Mrs Clift, the

Teacher-Librarian.

Debating Gala day

Last Friday on the 13th of September, Eden P, Eliza S, Lyla D and Campbell P represented Hazelbrook

Public School at the Mid-Mountains Debating Gala Day held at Springwood public School. We were

given a few weeks to plan, as a team, 3 topics to be debated across the day. The topics we chose

were:

Schools should only use intrinsic rewards for the students. We debated for the negative

Water restrictions should be in place at all times. We debated for the affirmative

There should be no competitive sports in schools. We debated the affirmative.

The standard of debating was excellent from all schools and we finished third overall. It was a great

day and we thank Mr McDonald for his hard work with the school debating team.

By Eden P (Mac M), Eliza S (Mac M), Campbell P (Mac M) & Lyla D (5/6J)
