Stay in the included canvas wall tent or upgrade to one of our deluxe tents or roofed housing options. The BSA Family Adventure Camp is designed to meet the needs of families and build bonds through exciting and interactive programs. The program operates in an open enrollment format where you and your family choose activities that appeal to you. Families will meet for two program sessions daily: Morning and Afternoon. You will spend your nights at the Philmont Training Center in tents equipped with electricity and visit the dining hall for breakfast and dinner. Over the course of a week, you’ll go on hikes that vary in length and difficulty, culminating in an overnight trip in the backcountry. With the assistance of a Philmont Ranger, you’ll learn various backcountry skills, including cooking methods, setting up/breaking camp, proper bear procedures and more. In addition to hiking, participants will also have opportunities to engage in other activities, such as horseback rides, shooting, touring the National Scouting Museum and other PTC activities. Participants must be 13 years old or older. Units and families alike are welcomed as long as two-deep leadership is practiced.
