SummaryIt happens morning when someone was

planning to went at the flower shop of an old man to ask confidential data about the hybridization of roses for his feature writing story on his magazine.

When she went to the flower shop, he saw Purita, the younger cousin waiting for costumers. He saw a lot of different kinds of beautiful flowers that they had. There were res flowers and yellow ones. While rooming around, he saw Letty who was in the corner. He immediately ask Letty if she is not busy because he wants help for his magazine but Letty have something to do. He decided just to get a chair and set beside her so that he could look at her directly. At that time, he started to write already anything about news, features, ads, sketches, and notes and he made a lot of paragraph already.

After that, he felt bored that he don’t know what to do except only in observing costumers and noted down some characteristics because he think that it could help. He even answered the telephone several times and most of them were for Margarita Martinez’ party. When he drop down the telephone, there were four men came with their motorcycle. Letty asked about their order and they want plenty of flowers just for the said party.

Tom, the driver said that he wants to have a passion flowers. He was very particular about the way they were arranged, the ferns that were used, even the ribbons and the tissue paper and you could see how he loved flowers. The last box that he ordered is for their companion whom they called Mike. He put an arm around Mike’s shoulders and whispered something to him.

Letty and he couldn’t look at each other for a long time. It was because they have seen something that made them feel as if they had committed something shameful. They didn’t look at each other pretending to be busy. Mrs. Lacson appeared with the two other women.

Mrs. Lacson wants a box of gladioli for Miss Martinez and it was a coincidence when the two women heard about it because they also want that for Miss Martinez. That made them ask if Mrs. Lacson would go to the party but only her husband will come. They talk with each other until the women mentioned the name of her friends, of Margot and Don Pepe and the Judge as well. That made him write another story on how in a flower shop a woman can’t be alone with her thoughts.

Suddenly, a senator arrived looking for the two women if they have bought already the flowers yet but Mrs. Lacson was the first who bought it so, they just go. He said to his self that he got already the word that describes exactly for the two women for his writing.

Well, after that he was almost through and he learned a lot about of flowers that day as well as people. All about how some flowers are like human beings. But he couldn’t leave because there was something more he wanted to tell Letty until there were two men who arrived at the shop.

The courteous one said very politely if he could have a box of flowers that is something cheaper. The guy choose cosmos which is the cheapest that cost only ten centavos. The guy have a bright idea to buy a box which is more expensive than the flowers so that Miss Martinez would think that the flowers are expensive. He turned his face to his companion but it just look into the other way.

The flower shop represents as the great tool on a person who is doing something and it made him easier because of the happenings around on him.

• Sociological Approach – The flow of the story was in the flower shop and the narrator was their for a feature story on his magazine and the environment and the people’s characteristics were shown which helps him to create many wonderful ideas for the story he was making.
