Qualified artists will be asked to complete final paperwork to pre-lease an apartment. PRE-LEASING APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 31, 2019 NOTIFICATION June 2019 MOVE-IN July 2019 HOW DO I APPLY? 1. PRE-QUALIFICATION All residents must complete the pre-qualification survey at www.urbanhousingsolutions.org/pre-qualify 2. UHS RENTAL APPLICATION Complete a rental application online or in-person at 822 Woodland Street and check the “Working Artist Preference” box 3. ARTIST APPLICATION PORTAL After you qualify, you will be given access to the artist application portal to submit required documentation. Working artists can qualify for priority leasing for affordable apartments at 26th and Clarksville -- including at least 10 units reserved in the newest phase (Phase 2) available July 2019. Apply today! APPLICATION CHECKLIST ARTIST STATEMENT maximum 250 word introduction of yourself and your art. Tell us about your medium (paint, music, food, etc.) and your current work - what it means to you and what you hope it means to others. RESUME maximum 2 page summary of accomplishments related to the eligible art, including education and training, recent performances, exhibitions, commissions, publications, etc. WORK SAMPLES submit up to 5 still images, 5 minutes of audio or video recordings, manuscripts, articles/reviews, playbills, or other documentation of your work. RECOMMENDATION LETTERS Short statements (100-350 words) from up to 3 people in your industry affirming that you practice in the unique creation and public display of an eligible art, on a regular and progressive basis. LEASING INFORMATION ARTIST PREFERENCE QUALIFICATION WHY SHOULD I APPLY? • Afforable rents for high-quality apartments • Proximity to downtown and local institutions with strong access to public transit • Access to on-site community building for use as gallery space, performance, artist talks, etc. • Exposure to other local artists and creatives • Opportunity to help build the creative community at 26th & Clarksville
