    A handful of companies hold the honor of playing a role in the lives of people every day. Even fewer can claim to allow much latitude to cater the needs of masses, as indeed it is evident that corporate responsibility relates not only to cleaner environment but also to create value.

    PharmEvo corporate responsibility vision is inspired by the concept of shared value. Our understanding of corporate responsibility is evolving & reaching into the core of society to build capacity of masses. We believe that PharmEvo can help address pressing social needs esp. healthcare by finding intersections between those needs & what we can do best.     PharmEvo owns a strong heritage of innovation that began in 1999 in Karachi when a group of oneof-a-kind people founded a pharmaceutical company that has changed the course of pharmaceutical history in Pakistan.

    Its an inspiring tale of a handful of people who dreamt to create an organization with a loving spirit that comes from the heart & enriches all they touch, customers, their employees and of course the society.

    NISE, Our first flagship product entered the market in the year 2000 and made impressive inroads, snatching a sizeable share from the competitor in its very first year of launch

    Lowplat 2003, the year that saw the emergence of one of the successful products in the history of Pakistan pharmaceutical industry, we feel proud to claim that since Lowplat hit the market, countless lives have been improved and saved.

    Ramipace, another of our star products took the market by storm in 2004 and is now rated as one of the most prescribed products in its category.

    Xplended launched in 2006 & registered explosive growth to swiftly join the league of one of the fastest growing products in the market.

    Lowplat Plus 2007, a unique combination of Aspirin and clopidogral that remains the hope for difficult to treat cardio vascular patients.

    Orslim 2007, our anti-obesity drug that is helping people to get rid of their extra baggage thus improving obesitys pathological and cosmetic implications.

    Avsar 2010, has already drawn the attention of leading consultants.

    CORPORATE PROFILE

    PharmEvo (Pvt.) limited, incorporated on October 7th, 1999, is a healthcare company, which is engaged in the creation, development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical products, including over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, medical equipment and infant formulas.

    PharmEvos principal pharmaceutical products include medicines in therapeutic areas: respiratory, anti-viral, central nervous system, cardiovascular, metabolic, and anti-bacterial along with oncology. The Company operates in following primary areas of business:

    Pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and infant formula.

    PharmEvo partners with following international groups for bringing best quality products to its consumers i.e. Bioton (Poland), Lactalis (France), Omron (Japan), DONG-A- PHARM (Korea) etc.

    PharmEvos anti-viral includes, Tenova (Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumerate); Products for Psychiatry are Klevra (Levetiracetam), EvoKalm (Quetiapine) & Estar (Escitalopram). The Companys products for cardiovascular are, Lowplat, Lowplat plus, ARBI, Telsarta, Ramipace, Tansin, Nuval and Xplended Diabetes portfolio includes, Evopride, Inosita & Innogen. Orslim (Orlistat) belongs to Anti-obesity segment.

    Our gastroenterology portfolio carries, Zoltar, Fasteso & Actiflor. Antibiotics are, Evofix, EvoTaxime, Evozid, Evorox and Cefipime. In oncology our products are, Trugem, Oncotaxel & Oxalitin. Orthopedic areas include Nise, Spedicam, Anex and Mezrel. Onita, Gouric, Ibandro and Bonedol make up the Osteoporosis & Gout portfolio whereas Eposino is used in Nephrology. Celia is infant formula with unique variants & Omron carries state-of-the art medical equipment.

    CLINSION PROJECTS

    Clinsion is an initiative by PharmEvo which aims at teaching & helping young enthusiast individuals, who are to start their career journey, on how to conduct medical research. It has a Health Research Advisory Board. Clinsion Project comprises of the following;

    CLINICAL TRIALS

    Clinical Trials comprise of the following;

    Case Report Format (CRF) Informed Consent Documents (ICD) Protocol/Research Paper Writing Sites Management Services

    PharmEvo assists hospitals in developing CRD and ICD documents and also give them training on medical protocols to be followed while writing a research document. PharmEvo also assists in site management services, where they monitor or moderate a specific experiment being conducted.

    RESEARCH SUPPORT

    Research and Support consist of;

    Clinical Trial Monitoring and Management

    Statistical Analysis

    In Research and Support PharmEvo helps medical researchers in testing and monitoring clinical trials as a neutral party and helps them run statistical analysis on the data collected helping in trial and error analysis of the hypothesis.

    WORKSHOPS

    PharmEvo conducts variety of workshops;

    Research Methodology Medical Literature Search Medical Writing SPSS Epidemiology

    These workshops pertain to how research should be conducted, how to find relevant data, how to write a medial research paper and how to analyze the data collected via SPSS or other statistical techniques. PharmEvo also holds workshops that discuss epidemic diseases and what measures should be taken to minimize the spread of epidemic diseases.

    CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTERS (CRC)

    PharmEvo at the moment regulates 4 research centers located in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Peshawar. The purpose of having these research centers is to promote medical research and to induce and motivate doctors to find cures of newly developing diseases in Pakistan and also abroad.

    HEALTH RESEARCH ADVISORY BOARD

    Health Research Advisory Board (HRAB) is a think tank of senior clinicians, researchers and academicians, who are committed to the mission of HRAB which is to Develop a Research Ecosystem of Pakistan.

    The members of HRAB represent major clinical specialties, medical institutions and associations and possess relevant expertise and experience to spearhead such a significant component of our health system. The main objectives of HRAB are;

    Provide Leadership for developing the medical research ecosystem of Pakistan

    Create Synergy among the existing stake holders and bring them together

    Build Capacity of the human resource involved in conducting research

    Collaborate and network locally as well as globally to initiate research activities in the country

    Facilitate the development of a national health research policy.

    eDR

    eDr is an initiative to float medical information and to develop an efficient Medical Information System (MIS) in order to revolutionize the healthcare ecosystem of Pakistan through optimum use of Information Technology.

    eDr helps doctors and associated healthcare professionals through the following projects;

    Health portals help doctors avail data and information related to medical cases, and resources which doctors and medical professionals attain through the following;

    PEPID (USA) Meds Daily (UK)

    PEPID (USA)

    PEPID offers innovative decision-support resources for Doctors and allied healthcare providers around the world. PEPID solutions are available on desktop and mobile platforms to deliver point-of-care access to fully-integrated medical, clinical, and pharmacological data, medical calculators, dosing calculators, drug interactions generators and illustrations.

    MEDS DAILY (UK)

    Meds Daily is the internets medical router, providing a backbone of medical information and daily updates on each medical specialty to Doctors, via RSS built on data collected daily from over 10,000 RSS feeds from medical journals, health news services, health professionals blogs, events, podcasts and more.

    CLINICAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

    PharmEvo provides & encourages hospitals and medical care centers in maintaining patient records and case data to be utilized for future references. It gives PharmEvo great pride to initiate and help one of the leading hospitals to be the first ever Paperless Hospital operating in Pakistan.

    MOBILE, PC BASED LEARNING AND WI-FI ZONES

    This project integrates and encourages Mobile and PC based learning and provides free internet access in hospitals for healthcare providers.

    JAHAN-E- MASEEHA PROJECTS

    PharmEvo promotes literature and cultural landscaping through Jahan-e-Maseeha. Jahan-e-Maseeha is a literary program exclusively initiated for doctors and healthcare providers who value literature. Following initiatives are running successfully at PharmEvo.

    JAHAN-E-MASEEHA MAGAZINE

    Jahan-e-Maseeha is a periodically published and distributed magazine for the medical fraternity to express their inner selves in the form of prose and poetry.

    Book fairs promote learning habits amongst the masses apart from providing books on discounts.

    LITERARY SUPPORT

    PharmEvo Assists doctors to pursue their literary dreams by publishing their work.

    PUBLICATIONS

    PharmEvo develops annual thematic calendars to broadcast powerful messages and also publishes books (corporate books) under different titles concerning diverse subjects. These calendars have bagged in numerous NCC Awards.

    CULTURAL LANDSCPING

    PharmEvo is creating visually distinct scenery on literary horizon in order to shape cultural landscape. To that end it holds frequent literary events with legendary personalities.

    mLEAD PROJECTS

    mLead is an initiative that strives to enhance and promote leadership qualities in medical staff and doctors. PharmEvo engages doctors in dialogues where they can share their knowledge and ideas to develop a better understanding of medical issues, which eventually leads to effective solutions to these issues. mLead also counsels young individuals shape their future and helps them make the right choice for themselves. The mLead project consists of the following;

    CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME)

    Continuing Medical Education project basically strives to keep the senior medical fraternity up to date with the medical information and development in the world, this forum of dialogue keeps those doctors engaged with research and utilizes their experience in devising solutions to those problems. This project is further divided into;

    CERTIFICATE CME PROGRAMS

    PharmEvo provides participating doctors and medical staff with certificates acknowledging their contributions. These certifications are conducted in different medical schools all across the country

    INTERNATIONAL KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

    PharmEvo with this project tries to keep doctors updated with the up to date information concerning, medical techniques, medicines, cures and researches. Also in this project PharmEvo conducts webinars in which doctors from different countries brief and discuss the issues they are having and what can be a solution to it, thus learning from each other.

    eLEARNING

    E-LEARNING encourage doctors and medical professionals to engage with online learning through web portals and webinars.

    CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)

    This project concerns with the youth of the nation, Students from different public & medical universities are given valuable advice through psychometric testing tools (MBTI) to shape their future. The project consists of the following;

    CAREER GUIDANCE CENTERS (CGC)

    These centers are located in Public & medical universities; these centers hold workshops on personality development using MBTI. PharmEvo wants to help the young medical graduates to choose the right career path for themselves rather than regretting their emotive initial choices.

    LEARNING RESOURCE CENTERS (LRC)

    PharmEvo promotes learning in whatever capacity it can & that is exactly what these LRCs represent. These LRCs are created to help doctors enhance their computer literacy. These LRCs are situated all across the countrys leading medical institutions providing them with a platform to look beyond their potential and to help them achieve their goals.

    INTERNATIONAL LRC

    PharmEvo not only serves the local community but also serves in our bordering countries. PharmEvo has three Learning Resource Centers located in Afghanistan in three different cities namely, Kabul, Kandahar and Jalalabad.

    CONTNUING LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT (CLD)

    This project accepts the responsibility of promoting leadership qualities in the medical fraternity, exposing them to useful workshops like Patient First, where they are trained on how to take care of the patients & significance of ethical practices.

    PharmEvo conducts numerous events all year long to address social causes and help build a healthier society.

    BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

    PharmEvo has always been a pioneer in helping out the society; PharmEvo conducts regular Blood donation drives in collaboration with Hospitals. This event persuades employees to donate blood for a cause.

    EARTH DAY

    On 22nd April of every year PharmEvo contributes in making this world a better place by participating actively, and demonstrating its support for environmental protection

    HEALTH WALKS

    PharmEvo employees organize & participate in healthy activities like health walks thus promoting healthier life.

    DAWN QUOTATIONS

    PharmEvo also connects to millions of its consumers through newspaper words of wisdom (quotations) helping them find motivation and guiding them to live positively.

    MBA FOR DOCTORS

    PharmEvo in collaboration with Institute of Business Management has started a 6 week MBA crash course for doctors which grant them an honorary MBA Certificate.

    TCF AND BAITHAK SCHOOL

    PharmEvo also contributes towards education for underprivileged children. It actively participates in making donations for The Citizen Foundation or PharmEvos own initiative The Baithak School. Where under privileged children are provided with competent education so that they can grow personally. These schools help children in making them useful members of the society.

    APPRECIATING THE TOP TALENT

    PharmEvo also wants to keep the youth motivated, in order to do so, PharmEvo participates in the Gold Medal Ceremony for the High Achievers in universities e.g. the Pharmacy Department in Karachi University.

    Employee Turnover at PharmEvo is comparable to any good organization. Though regarding Field Force it appears a little high but that also reflects our zero tolerance policy on wrongdoings & deviation from our values.

    WORKFORCE DIVERSITY

    PharmEvo is a diversified organization having operations in all the four provinces of Pakistan. Workforce at PharmEvo consists of people from different religions and ethnicities.

    Furthermore, PharmEvo also has international operations in South America, various Asian countries, and Africa. PharmEvo is a truly global organization having a globalized workforce.

    TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

    Training and Development is of vital importance at PharmEvo. A handsome amount of fortune is invested into Training and Development. It is important for PharmEvo that its employees gain exclusivity from its training

    programs irrespective of how much the cost of training is. PharmEvo has always encouraged learning and would do as much as it could towards the Training and Development of its employees. Our blended learning approach of workshops, coaching/ mentoring, instructor-led training sessions, online webinars, and web-based training courses enable our employees to improve their skills and competencies. Our training and development team also designs and facilitates leadership/ management training programs for project managers, supervisors, functional managers, and senior managers.

    FIELD FORCE

    Field Force is divided into the following tiers;

    Medical Sales Officer (MSO) Area Manager (AM) Sales Manager (SM)

    For MSOs Basic Orientation and Training Program (BOTP) is conducted every quarter, this BOTP entails information about the company, sales techniques, sales pitch delivery training, and product information. Besides BOTP, every quarter PharmEvo runs a TOPGN program for MSOs who perform extraordinarily and who deliver more than their prescribed targets, these high achieving MSOs are given Leadership Training and Advance Selling Skills Training to initiate career growth, motivating these MSOs to take up senior positions.

    Area Managers are Field managers. Training and Development Program for AM consist of Leadership workshops and how to plan & manage their areas & teams. These training

    programs are conducted twice a year, given them ample opportunities to grow and prosper.

    Sales Manager Training conducted twice a year pertaining to enhance their Leadership Skills, and to develop and enhance their decision making skills.

    HEAD OFFICE

    At the head office Training and Development Program is TNA based. Training is conducted both via in-house resources and external training programs. The COO and senior management are involved with the in-house training programs like work ethics, leadership development etc. PharmEvo also hires external trainers for a variety of trainings as well.

    FACTORY

    Factory employees go through Training and Development as per their needs. Training programs include Efficient Supply Chain workshops, Quality Control workshops, six sigma & Waste Minimization workshops etc. These trainings are conducted through a regular calendar. Factory workers are also kept updated on the Health, Safety and Environment policies given in the HSE manual.

    SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIROMENT

    At PharmEvo safety, health and Environment are given utmost importance; PharmEvo does recognize how important these elements are in making an organization successful & safe.

    Furthermore, PharmEvo has devised a HSE Manual catering to head office and factorys safety, health and environment.

    Our Company is committed to achieving the highest level of Health Safety and Environment performance with compliance to legal requirement as the minimum.

    HSE impact evaluation is included in the CAPEX proposals and in the change control proposals. Any capital project design is required to be approved from local agencies (EPA) for environmental impact assessment before commencement of construction.

    HSE policies;

    Provide and maintain plant, building, equipment, process, system and working condition which are safe and without risk to employees, visitors and contractors.

    Prevent pollution at workplace and educate, train and motivate employees to perform their activities in a safe and friendly environment.

    Setting clear targets for maintaining environment health and safety standards to ensure the compliance of Environment Protection Act (EPA) and National Environment Quality Standard (NEQS) as applicable.

    Continuously identify the potential hazards present in workplace and make effective and sufficient risk assessment and to plan eliminate or control the risk and avoid adverse effect.

    procedures and trainings to staff accordingly

    Involve the Staff in reviewing and improving the HSE performance through feedback after every internal/external training provided to staff and through continuous feedback at HSE committee meetings

    Encouraging employees participation in developing standards and achievement of HSE objectives, targets and monitoring and review of practices.

    Measuring the workplace environment, health and safety performance through relevant inspections and audits by nominated HSE team and measure compliance with the developed policies and procedures

    Through effective utilization of all the available resources, ensure the waste minimization by improving efficiencies of equipment, machinery and processes

    All the processes generated waste disposed in an acceptable manner according to the written and approved procedure and in compliance to local environmental rules

    Setting clear targets for reducing emission through effective process control system

    Provide training and information to all concern staff about the use of safety equipment during operations of machines & equipment.

    Generation of accident/incident report, conducting investigation and recovery plan and track all reports of investigation through HSE committee to

    avoid recurrence of accident/incident To achieve these targets a committee comprising of members from all section of company both Factory and Head office nominated associates representing each category is formed and are responsible owners of this process.
