How does a vendor become authorized by NPSC? Many of our current authorized vendors have come from rec-ommendations from our network. All vendors considered for the program have a meeting with us, present their product or service, and offer a program to NPSC that is most often not available unless a store is part of the group. We investigate the vendor with network store owners and other colleagues in the business of pharmacy for quality, service, price, support, sales representation, and potential need/desirability by the net-work.

What are the benefits of purchasing from authorized NPSC vendors?

1. NPSC has investigated each vendor for reliability, quality and performance.

2. The best “deal” has been worked out for the benefit of the network.

3. Not all vendors listed provide admin and marketing fees to NPSC. If they do, a red star (*) is next to their name. NPSC shares a portion of this fee with pharmacies purchasing from the vendor based on their participation in the overall pro-gram.

4. If there is a problem with a vendor for any reason, we will intercede to assist in attaining a positive outcome.

Why would an authorized vendor contract get terminated? Unfortunately, there are times when a program with a vendor just doesn’t work. Program failure may be due to poor service to the stores, reports and payments for sales not made to our office, representation in the field fails to appear at the network stores, or on the flip side, the stores in the network fail to sup-port the vendor and the vendor feels the agreement is not worth their effort. Thankfully, in the NPSC vendor program, terminations are the exception not the rule.

How come some of the vendors I buy from do not show up on my quarterly NPSC statement? It is important that when an NPSC pharmacy purchases through one of our authorized vendor programs, that they noti-fy the company that they belong to NPSC. Also, when quarter-ly reports are sent to you from NPSC headquarters, take a mo-ment and review the report and be sure you have been given credit for your purchases. If you haven’t, contact your NPSC field consultant and report the discrepancy. NPSC will follow through and get the issue rectified.
