What is social media?

How it used to be

• News created by set structures• To be producer of media you had to belong to a company or

organization• Reader / viewer defined pre-production• Only exchange of information was through ”Letter to the editor”

Today

Who am I?

This is me

But this defines who I am to the world around me

Talking to clients in their own language

Talking to clients in their own language

You’re doing great!

• Giving the employes your trust to help out with the change

• An environment of trust – not rules & regulations

New site

• Easy accesible• One click only• Looks fantastic on mobile devices• Fast

Metatags

• Still, the metatags need to be adjusted

Competitors - Siemens

• Flash?• Not user friendly

Johnson & Johnson

• Nothing for the press• One way communication

Google

• Awesome!

Improve interaction

• Start a blog. English for all local sites to implement.• Add Disqus to allow commenting and sharing

Reach your customers

Parents talk, discuss and act on recommendations

• How do you listen?

• How do you inform?

• How do you start and / or initiate the discussions that leads to parents becoming customers?

Communication is key

• Publish information

• Publish movies on the subject

Share what you can

• I want to write about Phadia – where do I find information?

• I want to illustrate a blogpost – where do I find pictures?

• I want to show a film about Phadia – where do I look?

• Distribute your content

• Share your pictures with Creative Commons

• Upload movies to YouTube and create a Phadia channel

Don’t go high-tec when oldschool will serve your purposes

• Twitter and Facebook may be all the hype but might not be best choice for your purposes.

• Mailing-list aimed at professional users. Once a month.

• Don’t expect people to come to you – provide THEM with information

Open up!

• You want to gain more attention?

• You want to look more proactive?

• Open up all social networks for all employes

• Deploy ”Phadia Code of Conducts” with a lot of tips HOW TO behave and only a few actual regulations.

• The more they talk, the more people will know.

• Have the staff take a survey to find out how THEY would like to act

Find your ambassadors!

• You have staff that live and die for Phadia

• Find them, nurture them, make them feel special

• Give them the necessary tools for being Ambassadors- Let them blog- Let them tweet if they like to

Global vs local

• Create a global flowing structure – everything that Global says have to be reprinted locally -> Not unique

• Global decides on big issues and Local has to follow -> Not unique

• Global creates Code of Conduct-document

All your domains

• Highly ranked in Google?

• Do a standardized page, post on all domains and link to Phadia.com or local sites.

• Analyze all om them – keep the ones with high value, drop the rest.

Future

• Do an in-depth analysis of your competitors - How do they communicate?- What tools do they use?- How visible are they?- How much press / blogposts / tweets are they getting?

Thanks for listening!
