PGC Shoot Outs…..I mean Shout Outs!

I would like to recognize our PGC members who participated in local and regional shooting events and have done well. There are a number of members who participated in trap shooting, skeet shooting and sporting clays that have done well and deserve a shout out. Just a reminder…….please shoot (send) Karinn Schultz an e-mail at [email protected] with information on yourself or your friend who has done well and I can recognize them in the next quarterly issue. Thank you!!

The 2017 Minnesota State Skeet Championships were held this past August at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake and we had some PGC members who did really well and were mentioned in the article! Some of our members (Max Bunning, Joe Sanguinetti, Nathan Ziemer, Joel Kampa, David Baker, Barrett Swenson and Dan Kampa) are mentioned for winning various awards and the article can be found on http://www.claytargetnation- digital.com/December2017#& pageSet=39&page=0&contentItem= undefined.

Congratulations to David Baker for winning his first Minnesota State High Overall Championship by a single target. Also, Class HOA champions were Max Bunning (B1 Class), Dan Kampa (C1 Class) and Barrett Swenson (D1 Class).

Miscellaneous News

Rounds Shot at PGC- Below is a summary for all rounds shot in 2017 with a comparison to

2016. Overall, we were down 5% from 2016, but 2016 was an exceptionally high year. The total rounds

shot for 2017 were still above years 2013, 2014 and 2015. We had a good year of participation at PGC.

Fence Update- The cyclone fence project has been approved for a grant by the DNR.

Town and Country Fence will install it in the spring as soon as the frost is out of the ground. In the meantime, Tom Aasen has put up the “No Trespassing’’ signs. The fence is a 6 ft. high chain link fence. Along the north boundary of the PGC, it is 660 feet long. It then turns and goes up the west side approximately 125 feet. There is some space left on the west side to make it easier for the wild life to crossover into our woods. The total cost of the fence project is $25,000 of which half or $12,500 is being covered by the DNR Grant that was approved for us.

PGC Website- Tom Aasen is working on getting our PGC website

updated and current. Please check it out at plymouthgunclub.org!

Work Day-The 2018 work signup sheet is posted at the club.

Membership Dues-The 2018 Membership Dues are $35.00 and can be paid at the club or

mailed to our treasurer, Scott Fahlstrom at the following address: Scott Fahlstrom 3111 Garfield St. Minneapolis, MN 55418

Shooting and Membership Pricing Increases-Effective April 1, 2018, the price for adult

and junior member shooting will increase to $4.00 per round. Also, effective January 1, 2019, the price for adult and junior member shooting will increase to $4.50 per round. In addition, on January 1, 2019, membership dues will increase to $50.00 per year. The Board of Directors made the new pricing decision to rebalance the member/non-member shooting income ratio as required by the State of Minnesota for non-profit organizations, and to ensure that the Club has the resources to fund future endeavors, as well as the ongoing purchase of targets and ammunition. The last membership dues increase was March 2000, and the last shooting price increase was December 2008.

For Sale Section-If anyone has guns they are selling and wants them included in the next

quarterly issue under a For Sale section, please send Karinn Schultz an e-mail at [email protected].

Spotlight Interviews-We are doing quarterly spotlight interviews on the longest serving PGC
