Are Canadians too risk-adverse to be globally competitive?

In our Youth to Business Survey last year, 90% of students we surveyed chose the reputation of the employer as one of the most important factors in finding employment. Youth today are attracted by businesses that discuss today’s issues. It is a chance to be a solution to Canada’s challenges, by engaging youth in a conversation.

This is an opportunity to run a session in front of 40-50 of AIESEC Canada’s outgoing Vice-Presidents and Local Committee Presidents who are focused on finding work opportunities. Running an employment workshop session, such as an interview skills session, offers P&G the perfect opportunity to pre-screen potential applicants.

Deloitte: “We (Canadian businesses) avoid risk at any cost, we don’t innovate; we stagnate. Canada needs more growth.”

Highlights from last year:In May 2013, Youth to Business bought together speakers like Mayor Nenshi of Calgary, CEO of Calgary Economic Development Bruce Graham, CEO of Calgary Arts Development Terry Rock, Senior Economist at ATB Financial and author Todd Hirsch, and Chairman of the board of Export Development Canada and Chan-cellor of the University of Calgary Jim Dinning, to discuss Canada’s competitiveness and sustainability in Calgary.

2012-2013 AIESEC NATIONAL SALES PROGRAM

AIESEC is the perfect training ground for business-minded youth to develop fundamental sales skills. AIESEC Canada’s National Sales Program trains top sales members across Canada. Our program has bought in trainers such as: Kevin Peesker CEO of Dell Canada, Ted Kouri President of Incite, and Alex Popa Co-President of Plug and Play Canada.

After training, these students use their skills to integrate AIESEC’s Global Internship Program with companies’ recruitment strategies. These students are a great pool of candidates for P&G.
