The WedgeX design is derived from the standard wedge flow meter, but allows for a direct coupled differential pressure transmitter, which results in a compact and cost effective unit that virtually eliminates both gauge line induced and plugged tap related measurement errors. Wedge flow metering is intended for high-density, slurry type, or contaminated line fluid applications, including difficult-to-meter, air entrained liquids. WedgeX meters can be customized to measure fluids over a large range of pressures and Reynolds numbers; making them ideal for many applications, including shale gas extraction. With the proprietary gas evacuation system, even heavily gas entrained liquids can be accurately measured.
