    1. PREVENTIVE MEASURES RELATED TO THE SEMICIRCULAR

    LIPOATROPHY IN EXISTING BUILDINGS. PROTOCOL OF

    ACTION.

    This protocol has been designed to evaluate rooms and working places in existing

    buildings, taking a look at the rehabilitation of them. The aim of this evaluation is

    to study the indoor rooms, valuing the current characteristics and seeing the

    potential dangerous agents, which can influence to the appearance of the

    semicircular lipoatrophy.

    Basically we try to study the air conditioning, ventilation, humidity and the indoor

    building rooms, also analyzing the existing office equipment and office furniture.

    This study should be accompanied of thermohigrometric, electrostatic and

    electromagnetic initial valuation, to check if the indoor rooms conditions are

    adequated or not. These results obtained, need to be interpreted as an indication

    of the building conditions, and allows us to anticipate the needs of intervention if

    needed, directed to the appropriate rehabilitation of it.

    The assessment results are necessary to be related with environmental aspects

    that we have mentioned at section A in the original project, and the acceptance

    or not of the values, will be realized as a check-list .

    PROTOCOL OF ACTION.

    This protocol has been designed in order that in project phase and during the

    project of design, take care of the essential aspects bear in mind that we have

    developed in our study, towards the environmental factors, the electromagnetic

    fields, the finishing indoor materials as well as the specific furniture planned for

    the room.

    The operating is like a check-list to make sure that we satisfy the obligatory to

    include the aspects to study in the project. Once we studied the different points,

    we should check thus .

    materials, and the electrical and air conditioning facilities, as well as the furniture

    that is being installed.

    OF MEASURES ADOPTED IN PROJECT TO ANTICIPATE THE

    APPEARANCE OF THE SEMICIRCULAR LIPOATROPHY.

    This datasheet has been designed for taking some thermohigrometic,

    electrostatic and electromagnetic measures to verify the suitable indoor

    conditions of building, once the work is ended. The results obtained must be

    treated as a faithful reflection of the reality, that is taking place and the

    environmental values that could affect directly people who develops his

    professional activity.

    It is necessary to study the results and be related following the environmental

    criteria checking the compliment or incompliment throw the obtained values. Its

    possible that it would be necessary to modify the thermohigrometic, electrostatic

    and electromagnetic conditions.

    The acceptance or not of the values are realized as a check-list .

    5. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS OF ACTION.

    Environmental criteria

    Centralized control of the air conditioning system

    It would be very advisable the fact of centralizing the system of air conditioning,

    controlling thus the global conditions of the building.

    Installation of humidifiers.

    In case the relative humidity is lower than the recommended, its possible to

    install humidifiers to raise it.

    Installation of sensors to automate the air conditioning system.

    To be able to control the relative humidity in an automated and exhaustive way,

    its recommended to install hygroscopic sensors to obtain an historical report,

    also keeping constant the humidity. The machine will be turned on automatically

    when one of the sensors detects a lower value than the estimated.

    Installation of enthalpy exchangers joined to the renovation of the air.

    Instead of the crossed conventional interchangers, the installation of enthalpys

    interchangers in the room, allow the air renovation. It also could recover the air

    humid load returned and also keep a higher relative humidity in a natural way.

    Design of the furniture

    Desks

    Rounded edges with a large surface of contact or protect with a rounded piece of

    plastic,to isolate the metallic structure in contact with the employee.

    Metallic structure ground connected

    To obtain a better dissipation of the static loads, it is necessary to connect the

    desk to the electrical ground line connection of the building.

    Isolation of the electrical installation in contact to the metallic structure

    Improving the electrical isolation of the wired, related to the desk, its influence

    will be reduced.

    Chairs

    Metallic structure electrically connected to wheels which conduct electricity

    The chair with a conductor line installed both at the armrests and at the metallic

    structure, its is discharged throw a conductive leg, removing the electrostatic

    load.

    Seats made of not triboelectric material and good electricity conductor

    Seats must be made with a dissipative and not triboelectric material, that is to

    say that avoids generating electrical loads in the human body. For that reason it

    should be used pieces of cotton commercialized as antistatic, avoiding articles

    with synthetic fibers, silk, rayon, wool, etc.

    Footrest

    Another measure to improve the conductivity of the materials from the

    workplace, it is possible to install footrests that lead the electricity to the ground,

    hereby lets dissipate the electrostatic loads. The conductive floor combined with

    a conductive footwear, in order that the human body remains ground connected

    surely. The top limit resistance of the conductive footwear about static electricity

    must be 1,5105 W.

    To assure the dissipation of the electrostatic loads from the furniture and office

    workers, its necessary to connect the metallic elements in the ground connection

    line of the building.

    To allow the dissipation of the electrostatic loads from the furniture and office

    workers, insulating surfaces cannot be placed. Also it is necessary to bear in

    mind, not to use triboelectrics materials.

    Increase of the conductivity with superficial treatments

    The superficial treatment is realized generally with the application of prepared

    antistatic mixtures, added to the detergents, paintings, lubricants, impregnants

    and other substances, to increase the superficial conductivity to favor the

    formation of a hygroscopic conductive film. Its possible to use commercial

    antistatic products, in dissolution with water for an application in synthetic

    insulating floor, for a soft washing-up with mop or antistatic humid cloth with the

    dissolution. The film hereby created is soluble in water usually wear down with

    the use, so it is necessary to realize the treatment almost daily, though it is

    acceptable if it is done weekly.

    Cleanliness with antistatic products

    To reduce the aptitude to generate electrostatic loads as well as to increase his

    conductivity, its necessary to clean with antistatic products the floor with few

    conductivity, specially at the toilets and in the bar.

    Apertures to the South, South-East or South-West

    Curtains or vinyls

    In the zones of the building orientated to the south-east, south and west there is

    normally a high sunstroke that increases the temperature of these areas and

    therefore it reduces the relative dampness. To solve this problem its necessary

    to install curtains and vinyls to reduce the sunstroke and stabilize the relative

    humidity.
