This project in particular is context for the Wilderness Heart brief that I did for my friend over christmas. I will be expanding the brief for the sake of the yearbook as I think it is one of the strongest images I have produced. The hard stock used to mimic the effect of a vinyl sleeve appeals to the brief, since the music itself is very much oriented to the Led Zepplin era.A booklet would of course need to be included, as it would feature exclusive artwork and the info required by most music producers.

WILDERNESS HEART + BRIEF

This brief speaks out in terms of the interactive element and the limited colour pallette that I will be using for the brief. The peephole would work fantastically well for the middle logo of the album whilst making the product more desirable.It also leaves space for a poster to fit in the sleeve, perfect for promotional purposes.The stock itself would be a good consideration due to the nature of the music and contributes to the images depth.

Due to the structure/template of the packaging, it allows a breadth of content to be held in a small, compact container.The space for a booklet and CD is ideal and could lend to the other concepts/briefs aforementioned in this PDF.The aesthetics are of no use to me, soley the concept behind the packaging itself.

I particuarly like this promo package as it includes a few mini samples of work that could be sold at a print/book fair respectively. It also allows for a more slick, professional delivery when amalgamating projects together. Would be ideal for mailouts as well as “goodie bag” style reception.Most of the items are screenprinted which contribute to the exclusivity of the product whilst boosting the desirability of said product.That being said, at this moment I can find no direct correllation with my current briefs, although would be perfect for my PPD/branding/self-promotion.

SELF-PROMO/BOOK FAIR

Due to the quick turnaround nature of self-initiated illustration briefs, I will be undertaking the Tuborg live brief posted by John. Although this does not reflect the nature of my own illustration style, the application of a collage feel with bright tones and vivid production values would be something to consider.Due to the nature of the Tuborg brand and the festivals it sponsors, the themes are subject to my own.

TUBORG LIVE BRIEF

This is a prime example of how I want the inserts to function in my CODE magazine. The inserts themselves will be on a different stock to the publication, making the magazine stand out from itself and have greater impact and desirability.

Quite a shallow context post but I thought this was fantastic inspiration for the magazine due to the high impact textual nature of the imagery and how overprint can work to serious effect.The style can be adherent to my own, with a few tweaks in background textures and my own choice of type in collaboration with the colour pallete for the brief.

Due to me undertaking what would appear to be a vast amount of screenprinting over Easter, I thought this project was a fantastic example of how a limited pallette and stock choices work a result.The use of neutral colours really helps the overall look/impact of the posters as well as serving as a good starting point to research the team that put the posters together.Aside form being prime examples of visual communication, they look just a bit cool.

CONTEXT

This particular project sparked up a conversation I had with Chris concerning another significant brief to take on.I wanted to do something that involved character design and could fit into a context that appeals to an audience relative to my SOI and FMP themes. In general I just think it is a really slick looking, concept driven brief.Plus
