The Beginning Born on March 24, 1976 in New Orleans,

Louisiana. After graduating from Isidore Newman

High School, Manning came to play for the Tennessee Volunteers.

Manning quotes, “I want a challenge. At Ole Miss, I was already a celebrity. At the University of Tennessee, I would have to prove myself.”

And that is just what he did.

Years as a Vol During his freshman year as a Volunteer, he

shared the starting quarterback position with freshman Brandon Stewart.

With the loss of Brandon Stewart, Manning became the only starting quarterback for Tennessee.

After becoming the only starter for the Vols, Manning led the team to victory in six out of seven games.

Thank to those six wins, Tennessee went to the Gator Bowl that year.
