Floreat Primary School is a non-fee-paying
school located in Steenberg, Cape Town. The
students who attend Floreat come from very
impoverished homes in the surrounding area.
SACS has been involved in an Outreach
Programme with Floreat for the past five
years.
The SACS FLOREAT partnership revolves
around the following programmes:
The SACS Prefects serve as mentors for the
FLOREAT Prefects. A visit to the SACS campus
by the Floreat Prefects will take place
towards the end of the first term.
Floreat Primary runs a feeding scheme where
they provide their students with a meal every
day. For many of these students this is the
only meal that they receive for the day. We
would like to resume with the collection of
non-perishable items from Monday 13
February 2017. Specific items are allocated to
each Tutor House. Items can be dropped off
at Room 34 (Mrs Parker’s classroom) where
they will be delivered to Floreat on a monthly
basis.
Suggested foods are as follows, but are by no means a complete list:
Pasta Long Life Milk Canned foods Sunflower oil
Soup Mix or Soups Milo Baked Beans or Sweetcorn Tuna, Sardines or Pilchards
Lentils or Split Peas Nesquik Rice Peanut Butter
Sugar Beans Sugar Canned Tomatoes Jam
(Co-ordinators : Connor Greenwood; Matthew Hayward; Nishen Naidoo and Jack Zimmerman)
Please support this very worthy initiative so that we can make the first delivery on the 14th March. Thank you to all parents and SACS men for
the support shown for our Floreat Outreach Programme in 2016.
There has been an indication that not all parents have received school
fee statements for 2017.
Please be advised that these statements were emailed to parents on 2
December 2016, together with all financial information and debit
order forms. The email addresses these documents were sent from
were either [email protected] or [email protected].
Please check your email and notify the Finance Office should you have
not received your statement.
The cricketers compete against Bellville High School and the water
polo players against Wynberg Boys’ High School this weekend. The
First Cricket Team play at 9:30am on De Villiers Field (H) and the First
Water Polo Team at 11:30am (H).
The U14A water polo players are currently participating in the Dave
Pitcairn Cup and this tournament will conclude on Sunday. The First
Cricket Team will also play in the Somerset College T20 Festival on
Sunday at 8:30am.
We wish all players, teams, coaches, supporters and parents an
enjoyable and busy weekend of sport.
Yours sincerely
