    KEYS

    The keys allow you to independentlyoperate the locks on the front doors,the tailgate (saloon), the passenger

    air bag disarming switch, the fuelller cap, and the steering lock andto switch on the ignition.

    STARTING

    The 4 positions of the key in theignition:

    1 - STOPposition:

    the ignition is off.

    2 - 1st notch, Accessoriesposition:

    the ignition is off but theaccessories can be used.

    3 - 2nd notch, Runningposition:

    the ignition is on.

    4 - Startingposition:

    operates the starter.

    Remote control

    Pressing button Aremotely locks thevehicle.

    This is conrmed by xed lighting ofthe direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds.

    Pressing button B remotely unlocksthe vehicle.

    This is conrmed by rapid ashing ofthe direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds.

    206 SW: Pressing and holdingbutton B unlocks the vehicle andopens the rear screen.

    Central locking and unlocking

    From the driver's door, you can lockand unlock the doors and the tailgate.If one of the doors, the tailgate or therear screen (206 SW) is open, thecentral locking does not work.

    Leaving the ignition key inIf you leave the key in the ignition,a buzzer reminds you of this whenopening the driver's door.

    Locating the vehicle

    To locate your vehicle, when youhave left it locked in a car park:

    Fpress button A,the courtesy lightswill come on and the indicatorlights ash for a few seconds. Steering lock

    Before starting, unlock the steeringif necessary, by gently turning thesteering wheel at the same time asyou turn the key.

    It is advisable to press the clutchpedal while operating the starter, tomake starting easier.

    Precautions regarding thepassenger air bag

    For a vehicle tted with a disarmingswitch:

    Starting a petrol engine

    Do not press the accelerator.

    Operate the starter, without releasingthe key, until the engine turns.

    Starting a diesel engine

    Do not press the accelera-tor.

    Turn the key to the ''Running''position.

    If the engine is warm enough, thepre-heat light does not come on andyou can start immediately.

    If the pre-heat light comes on, waitfor it to go out before operating thestarter.

    If the engine stalls, it is necessary toreturn the key to the ''STOP''positionbefore restarting.

    Never race a cold engine.

    Never run the engine in aconned space.

    Do not make any modications to thesteering lock.

    Operating check

    With the ignition on (2ndnotch), illumination of thiswarning light, accompanied

    by a message on the multi-functiondisplay, indicates that the passengerair bag is disarmed (switch in the

    "OFF" position).The warning light remains onthroughout the period of disarming.

    FRONT AIR BAGS

    Disarming the passenger air bag*

    Insert the ignition key in the switch 1and turn it to:

    - the ''ON'' position, the passenger

    air bag is armed,- the ''OFF''position, the passenger

    air bag is disarmed.

    - disarm the airbag if you installa rear-facingchild seat,

    - arm the air bagfor an adultpassenger.

    For a vehicle not tted with a disarm-ing switch:

    - do not install a rear-facing child seat onthe front passengerseat.

    In no circumstances should youplace your feet or any other objecton the fascia.

    DOORS

    It is not possible to open the tailgate and the rear screen simultaneously.

    With the rear screen closed, to open thetailgate, operate the handleAand lift

    the tailgate.

    Front doors

    LOCKING / UNLOCKING THE TAILGATE AND THE REAR SCREEN(206 SW)

    With the tailgate closed, to openthe rear screen, press and holdthe unlocking button on the remotecontrol or operate the handle B,then lift the rear screen using thewindscreen wiper arm (location C).

    The lighting is activated onopening the tailgate or the rearscreen.

    Note: Close the rear screen usingthe windscreen wiper arm or bypressing at the centre of the glass.

    REAR SEATSTo fold down the rear seats:

    - Lift the front of the seat 1,- Tilt the seat 1 against the front

    seats,- Position the seat belt under the belt

    holder 2,- Pull control 3 to unlock the seat

    back 4,- Remove or lower the head

    restraint,

    - Tilt the seat back 4.When retting, take care not to trapthe seat belts.

    Load space coverTo install the load space cover:

    - position 1one end of the roller inone of the two supports,

    - compress 2the opposite end of theroller and put it in place,

    - release it 3so that it engages,- unroll 4 the cover to the boot

    pillars,- insert the cover guides 5in the rails

    on the pillars.

    The four-speed automatic gearbox

    offers a choice between the comfortof integral automatic operation,enhanced by a sport and a snowprogramme, or manual gearchanging.

    STEERING WHEEL HEIGHTADJUSTMENT

    When stationary, lower the handle torelease the steering wheel.

    Adjust to the desired height andlift the handle to lock the steeringwheel.

    OPENING THE BONNET

    From inside the vehicle: pull thehandle.

    From outside: lift the catch andraise the bonnet. Secure the strut tohold the bonnet open.

    WARNING LIGHTS

    A permanently lit warning lightor one ashing, with the enginerunning, indicates an operatingfault of the unit concerned.

    The illumination of certain warning

    lights may be accompanied by anaudible signal and a messageon the multifunction display. Donot ignore this warning: consulta PEUGEOT dealer as soon aspossible.

    If the central STOP warning lightcomes on when you are driving,stop your vehicle immediately,where it is safe to do so.

    Central (STOP)warning light

    Linked to the warninglights:

    - engine oil pressure and tempera-ture,

    - low coolant level,- handbrake,- low brake uid level,- electronic brake force distribution

    system fault.Linked to the coolant temperatureindicator.

    You must stop if the light asheswith the engine running.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Engine oil pressureand temperaturewarning light

    Linked to the central (STOP) warninglight.

    You must stop.

    This warning light indicates one ofthe following:

    - insufcient oil pressure,- a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit.

    Top up the level,- an oil temperature which is too high.

    The warning light is acompanied byan audible signal. To lower the oiltemperature, reduce your speed.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Diesel engine lowcoolant level warninglight

    Linked to the central (STOP) warninglight.

    You must stop.

    Wait for the engine to cool beforetopping up the level.

    The cooling circuit is pressurised.

    In the event of breakdown and to

    prevent any risk of burns, unscrewthe cap by two turns to allow thepressure to drop.

    When the pressure has dropped,remove the cap and top up the level.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Anti-lock brakingsystem (ABS) warninglight

    This comes on for a few secondseach time the ignition is switched on.

    If the warning light remains on orcomes on above 8 mph (12 km/h),this indicates an ABS malfunction.

    However, the vehicle retainsconventional servo-assisted braking.

    Illumination of this warning light,accompanied by an audible signaland a message on the multi-functiondisplay, indicates a fault in the ABSsystem.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Handbrake, lowbrake uid andElectronic Brake ForceDistribution system

    fault warning light

    Linked to the central (STOP) warning

    light.This indicates one of the following:

    - that the handbrake is applied or notfully released,

    - an excessive drop in brake uidlevel (if the warning light remainson even when the handbrake isreleased),

    - a fault in the Electronic BrakeForce Distribution system, if lit atthe same time as the ABS warninglight.

    You must stop.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Dynamic stabilitycontrol system(ESP/ASR) warninglight

    This comes on for a few secondseach time the ignition is switchedon.

    With the engine running and whenthe vehicle is moving, it comes on ifthe system is activated.

    It lights permanently when thesystem is disarmed.

    If the warning light remains lit with theengine running and when the vehicleis moving, consult a PEUGEOTdealer.

    Battery charge warninglight

    This indicates one of thefollowing:

    - faulty operation of the chargingcircuit,

    - slack battery or starter terminals,- a cut or slack alternator belt,- an alternator failure.Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Emission controlwarning light(according to model)

    This comes on for a few secondseach time the ignition is switchedon.

    If it comes on with the enginerunning, this indicates incorrectoperation of the injection, ignition oremission control system.

    If the warning light ashes, thereis a risk of damage to the catalyticconverter on petrol engines.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Diesel engine pre-heatwarning light

    Wait until the warning lightgoes out before starting theengine.

    If the temperature is high enough,the warning light comes on for less

    than one second. You can start theengine without waiting.

    Particle emission ltersaturation warning (Diesel)

    An audible signal and a messageon the multifunction display indicateclogging of the diesel lter (PEF),this is the beginning of saturationof the particle emission lter dueto exceptionally prolonged urbandriving conditions: low speed, longtrafc jams, ...

    In order to regenerate the lter, youare advised to drive at a speed of40 mph (60 km/h) or above as soonas possible when trafc conditionspermit for at least ve minutes, until

    the message disappears. If this faultpersists, consult a PEUGEOT dealeras soon as possible.

    Low fuel levelwarning light

    When this lightrst comes on, you

    have enough fuel to drive at least30 miles (50 km). The tank capacityis approximately 50 litres.

    Diesel additive level warning

    An audible signal and a messageon the multifunction display indicatea low diesel additive level. Thisadditive must be topped up, consulta PEUGEOT dealer as soon aspossible.

    Seat belt not fastenedwarning light*

    When the ignition is switchedon, this indicator light comes

    on if the driver has not fastened hisseat belt.

    Above 12 mph (20 km/h), the warninglight ashes for about two minutesaccompanied by an increasinglyaudible signal and a message on themultifunction display. This warninglight remains lit until the driver's seatbelt is fastened.

    Passenger air bagdisarmed warninglight*

    Illumination of this warning light

    accompanied by a message on themultifunction display, indicates thatthe passenger air bag is disarmed.

    The warning light remains lit aslong as the passenger air bag isdisarmed.

    Always consult a PEUGEOT dealer ifthe warning light ashes.

    Air bags warning light

    The light will come on fora few seconds when theignition is switched on.

    With the engine running, illuminationof this warning light, accompanied byan audible signal and a message onthe multi-function display, indicates afault in the air bags.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Coolant temperature indicator

    - needle in zone (A), the temperatureis correct,

    - needle in zone (B), the temperatureis too high. The central STOPwarning light ashes.

    You must stop.

    Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Engine oil temperatureindicator

    With the engine running, this indi-cates the oil temperature:

    - needle in zone (C), the temperatureis correct,

    - needle in zone (D), the tempera-ture is too high. To lower the oiltemperature, reduce your speed.

    This comes on when the "SPORT"

    programme is selected.

    This comes on when the"SNOW" programme isselected.

    Operating abnormality

    If the Sport and Snow indicatorlights ash, accompanied by anaudible signal and a message onthe multi-function diplay, consult a

    PEUGEOT dealer.

    Service indicator

    This is a visual reminder of whenthe next service is due. This serviceis to be carried out according to the

    manufacturer's servicing schedule.

    5 seconds after the ignition isswitched on, the total distancerecorder resumes normal operationand the display shows the total or tripdistances.

    The distance remaining beforethe next service is less than500 miles (1,000 km).

    Example:400 miles (900 km) remainbefore the next service is due.

    When switching on the ignition andfor 5 seconds, the display shows:

    5 seconds after the ignition isswitched on, the total distancerecorder resumes normal operationand the symbol remains lit.

    This indicates that a service shouldbe carried out shortly. The display

    shows the total or trip distances.

    The service is overdue.

    Each time the ignition is switched onand for 5 seconds, the symbol andthe excess distance ash.

    Example:the service is overdue by300 miles/km. The service should becarried out very shortly.

    When the ignition is switched on andfor 5 seconds, the display shows:

    INSTRUMENT PANELDISPLAY

    After switching on the ignition, threefunctions are shown in succession:

    - service indicator,- engine oil level indicator,

    - total distance recorder, it remainsdisplayed for 30 seconds when theignition is switched off, on openingthe driver's door, as well as onlocking and unlocking the vehicle.

    5 seconds after the ignition is

    switched on, the total distancerecorder resumes normal operationand the symbol remains lit. Thedisplay shows the total or tripdistances.

    Note: the service spanner lightsif the two-year interval has beenexceeded*.

    * According to country.

    Operation

    As soon as the ignition is switchedon and for 5 seconds, the spannersymbolising ''service operation'' is lit.The trip recorder display shows thedistance remaining (in round gures)before the next service.

    Example: 4,800 miles/km remainbefore the next service is due.When the ignition comes on and for

    5 seconds the display indicates:

    Resetting the service indicator

    Your PEUGEOT dealer carries outthis operation after each service.

    The reset procedure is as follows:

    - Switch off the ignition.- Press and hold button 1.- Switch on the ignition.

    The display begins a 10 secondcountdown.

    - Keep button 1pressed for 10 seconds.The display shows [= 0] and theservice symbol disappears.

    Engine oil level indicator

    When the ignition is switched on,the engine oil level is indicated forapproximately 10 seconds, after theservice information.

    Oil level gauge fault

    Flashing of the six segmentsindicates a malfunction of the oillevel gauge.

    There is a risk of damage to the engine.

    Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

    Surplus of oil

    Flashing of the six squares anddisplaying of "max" indicate asurplus of oil which could damagethe engine.

    If the surplus of oil is conrmed by

    a check using the dipstick, contact aPEUGEOT dealer without delay.

    Lack of oil

    Flashing of the six segments anddisplaying of "min" indicate a lack ofoil which could damage the engine.

    If the lack of oil is conrmed bya check using the dipstick, it isessential that the level is topped up.

    The level read on the gauge willonly be correct if the vehicle ison level ground and the enginehas been off for more than10 minutes.

    Total distance recorder

    Briey pressing button 1 alternatesbetween the total and trip distancedisplays.

    Adjusting the loudness

    This function automatically empha-sises bass and treble tones. Pressbutton I or J to switch the functionon or off.

    On/off

    With the ignition keyin the accessories orignition position, pressbutton Ato switch the

    set on or off.

    The set can operate for 30 minuteswithout the vehicle ignition beingswitched on.

    Anti-theft system

    The audio system is coded in such away that it can operate only on yourvehicle. It would not function if tted

    to another vehicle.The anti-theft system is automaticand requires no action on yourpart.

    ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

    Press button Cto increase the volume,or button Bto decrease it.

    Continuous pressure on buttons Cand B allows a gradual adjustmentof thevolume.

    Notes on radio reception

    Your car radio is subject tophenomena which do not affectdomestic radio sets. Both AM (MW/LW) and FM reception are subject to

    various forms of interference. Thisis no reection on the quality of theequipment, but is due to the nature ofthe signals and the way in which theyare transmitted.

    On MW/LW, interference may benoticed when passing under highvoltage power lines or bridges, or intunnels.

    On FM, interference may be theresult of increasing distance from thetransmitter, deection of the signals by

    obstacles (mountains, hills, buildings,etc.), or of being in an area which isnot covered by a transmitter.

    Recalling stations stored in thememory

    For each waveband, briey pressbuttons "1" to "6" to recall the

    corresponding station.

    for the station immediately above orbelow. By continuing to press thebutton in the direction selected, youwill obtain continuous scrolling of thefrequency.

    The scrolling stops at the rst stationfound as soon as the button isreleased.

    If the TAtrafc program is selected,only stations broadcasting this typeof program are selected.

    Searching for a station occurs rst in

    "LO"sensitivity (selection of the mostpowerful transmitters) during scanningof the waveband, then in "DX"sensitivity (selection of the weakestand most distant transmitters).

    To make a direct search in "DX"sensitivity, press button L or Ntwice.

    RDS

    Using the RDS (Radio DataSystem) function on FM

    Radio Data System allows you tocontinue listening to the same station,whatever frequency it is using for the

    region you are going through.

    Trafc information program Regional following mode

    When they are part of a network,certain stations broadcast regionalprograms in the various areas theyserve. With regional following modeyou can keep listening to the sameprogram.

    Press the "RDS" button for morethan two seconds to switch thefunction on or off.

    RDS station following

    The display indicates the name ofthe station selected. The radio iscontinually searching for the stationwhich has the best reception andwhich is transmitting the sameprogram.

    Press the "TA"buttonto switch the functionon or off.

    The multifunctiondisplay will show:

    - "TA"if the function is selected,- "(TA)" if the function is selected but

    not available.Any trafc information ash will begiven priority, whatever source youare listening to (radio, cassette orCD changer).

    If you wish to interrupt a message,press the "TA"button; this switchesthe function off.

    Note: the volume of trafcinformation announcements is

    independent of the volume ofnormal radio listening. You canadjust it using the volume button.The setting will be stored and willbe used when the next messagesare broadcast.

    EON system: Audio RD3

    This connects stations which are partof the same network. It enables thebroadcast of trafc information or aPTYprogram, by a station that is partof the same network as the station towhich you are listening.

    This service is available whenyou have selected the TA trafcinformation program or the PTYfunction.

    PTY function: Audio RD3

    This allows you to listen to stationsbroadcasting a specic type ofprogram (news, culture, sport, rock,etc.).

    To search for a PTYprogram:

    With FM selected,press the "TA"buttonfor two seconds toswitch this function onor off.

    - select the PTYfunction,- briey press button Lor Nto scroll

    down the list of the various types ofprograms offered.

    - when the program of your choiceis displayed, keep button L or Npressed for two seconds to carryout an automatic search (after anautomatic search the PTYfunctionis switched off).

    In PTY mode the different typesof programs can be stored in the

    Selecting cassette mode

    Fast forward/rewind

    Fully press button F or G to fastforward or rewind the cassette. Atthe end of the fast forward/rewind,the set plays the current side.

    Recommendations for usingcasssettes

    - Use good quality cassettes.- Avoid the use of cassettes which

    play for longer than 90 minutes.- Never expose the cassettes to heat

    or the direct rays of the sun.

    - Re-tighten the tape if necessarybefore inserting the cassette intothe player.

    - Clean the playing head regularly witha damp-type cleaning cassette.

    When a cassette isinserted, the cassette

    player will startautomatically.

    If a cassette is alreadyinserted, press the "SRC" buttonuntil cassette mode is selected.

    Note: before inserting the cassette,ensure that the tape is taut.

    Ejecting the cassette

    SELECTING THE SOURCE

    Press the SOURCEbutton to selectthe audio source: RADIO, CD, CDCHANGER, MP3 or audio/videoauxiliary input (AUX)*.

    GENERAL MENU

    Pressing button "P"provides accessto all of the functions available on theRT3 GPS audio/telephone:

    "Navigation - Trafc info".

    "Audio functions".

    "Directory".

    "Telephone and telematic services"."Conguration" of your vehicle.

    "Map"*.

    "Video"*.

    SCREEN

    In accordance with your selections,the screen displays the informationrelating to the Navigation - TrafcInformation, Audio, Directory,Telephone and Telematic Services,Conguration*, Map* and Video*functions.

    It is possible to change theinformation displayed on the right-hand side of your screen by pressing"F", "G", "P"and "U", or using thevoice commands.

    The information on the left-hand sideand at the top of the screen dependson the selection made for the right-hand side.

    Some information and actions(warning, settings, contextual menu)are indicated by the temporaryopening of a window on the screen. MOVING WITHIN THE MENUS

    Buttons "G", "H", "M", "I", "N"enable you to move within the menusand pressing button "G" conrmsyour selections.

    We recommend that you do notuse the RT3 GPS audio/telephonebuttons while driving. In somecountries, certain buttons may bedeactivated (in accordance withnational legislation).

    * According to screen.

    Auxiliary Input (AUX)*

    The auxiliary input allows theconnection of portable equipment(MP3 player, ...).

    FActivate the auxiliary input viathe "Conguration" menu, then"Sound" and nally "Activate auxinput".

    F Connect the portable equipmentto the audio sockets (white andred, type RCA) located in theglove box.

    FPress the SOURCE buttonsuccessively and select AUX.

    GENERAL FUNCTIONS

    On / off

    With the ignitionswitch in the accesso-ries / running positionor with the ignition

    on, press button A toswitch the audio func-tion of the RT3 GPSaudio/telephone onor off.

    Note: in the absence of an ignitionkey, press button A to switch thetelematics system on or off.

    The RT3 GPS audio/telephone canoperate for 30 minutes withoutswitching the vehicle ignition on.

    ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

    Turn buttonA clockwise to increasethe volume of the audio/telephone oranti-clockwise to decrease it.

    Anti-theft system

    The RT3 GPS audio/telephone iscoded in such a way that it canoperate only on your vehicle. If ttingit to another vehicle, consult yourPEUGEOT dealer for congurationof the system.

    The anti-theft system is automaticand requires no action on yourpart.

    MUTE

    Notes:

    - the SIM card must be removed onlyafter the audio/telephone has beenswitched off,

    - following automatic switchingoff of the audio/telephone after30 minutes it is possible to makea telephone call by pressingbutton D,

    - after the ignition has been switchedoff, the audio/telephone can beswitched on again by pressingbuttons D, E, V or by inserting aCD in the player.

    AUDIO SETTINGS

    Press button U toaccess the SoundAmbience, Bass,Treble, Loudness,

    Fader (front/rear balance), Balance(left/right balance) and Automaticvolume adjustment setting win-dows.

    Exit from audio mode is automaticafter a few seconds without anyaction, or by pressing the "ESC"button.

    Note: bass, treble and loudnesssettings are specic to each source.It is possible to have different settingsfor radio, CD MP3, CD changer orAUX.

    Notes

    The volume setting is specic toeach source. It is possible to havedifferent settings for radio, CD, CD

    changer or AUX.The volume is adjusted automaticallyin relation to the speed if the auto-matic volumefunction is active.

    The volume when stationary will bethe same the next time the audioequipment is switched on.

    Use the control onthe steering wheel toactivate this function.

    The sound is cut off,regardless of which

    source is in use. Thepermanent audiosources (radio, CD,

    CD changer, MP3, auxiliary input)remain cut off but not the others(guidance instructions, for example).

    To restore the sound, press one ofthe two volume buttons.

    You can also increaseor decrease the vol-ume using the con-trols on the steeringwheel.

    Sound ambience

    This function permitsthe selection of a"None", "Rock","Classical", "Jazz","Vocal" or "Techno"

    sound ambience.

    Turn button G to select the soundambience.

    Selecting "None" permits accessto all of the settings dened below.Selecting another ambience sets thebass and treble automatically.

    Bass setting

    When "Bass" is displayed, turnbuttonGto vary the setting.- "-9"for minimum bass setting,- "0"for normal setting,- "+9"for maximum bass setting.

    Treble setting

    When "Treble" is displayed, turnbuttonGto vary the setting.- "-9"for minimum treble setting,- "0"for normal setting,- "+9"for maximum treble setting.

    Adjusting the loudness

    This function automatically empha-sises bass and treble tones when thevolume is low.

    Rotate button Gto switch the functionon or off.

    Setting the front/rear sounddistribution (Fader)

    When"Fader"is displayed:- Turn buttonGclockwise to increase

    the volume in the front.

    - Turn button G anti-clockwise toincrease the volume in the rear.

    Setting the right/left sounddistribution (Balance)

    When "Balance"is displayed:

    - Turn button Gclockwise to increasethe volume on the right.

    - Turn button G anti-clockwise toincrease the volume on the left.

    Automatic volume adjustment

    This function allows the volume tobe adjusted automatically dependingon the level of noise produced by thespeed of the vehicle.

    Press button Gto switch the functionon or off.

    RADIO

    Notes on radio reception

    Car radio/telephone receivers aresubject to phenomena which donot affect domestic radio sets. BothMW/LW and FM are subject to

    various forms of interference. This isnot a reection on the quality of theequipment, but is due to the nature ofthe signals and the way in which theyare transmitted.

    On MW/LW interference may benoticed when passing under highvoltage power lines or bridges, or intunnels.

    On FM, interference may be theresult of the increasing distancefrom the transmitter, deection ofthe signals by obstacles (mountains,hills, buildings, etc.) or of being inan area which is not covered by atransmitter.

    Selecting the radio

    Press "SOURCE"several times.

    Automatic station search

    Briey press button M orNto search

    for the station immediately above orbelow.

    The search stops at the rst stationfound.

    If the TAtrafc programme is select-ed, only the most powerful stationsbroadcasting this type of programmeare selected.

    Selecting a waveband

    Briey press button"BAND/AST"toselect the FM1, FM2, FMast and AMwavebands.

    Search sensitivity

    It is possible to carry out automaticsearches at two levels of sensitivity:

    - To tune in to the most powerfultransmitters, select the local searchmode "LO"(default option).

    - To tune in to the weakest or mostdistant transmitters, select thesensitive search mode "DX".

    The station search is carried out rstin "LO" (local) sensitivity, then in"DX"(distant) sensitivity.

    To make a direct search in "DX"(distant) sensitivity, press button Mor Ntwice in succession.

    Automatic storing of FM stationsin the memory (autostore)

    Recalling stations stored in thememory

    For each waveband, briey pressthe buttons "1" to "6" to recall thecorresponding stored station.

    In the case of an RDS station, thefrequency appears for a few secondsbefore its name.

    Recalling an RDS station may resultin a search for the frequency which

    corresponds to the region throughwhich you are travelling.

    Press the "BAND/AST" button for

    more than two seconds.Your audio/telephone automaticallystores the 6 stations with the strong-est signal in FM. These stations arestored in the FMast waveband.

    If it is not possible to nd 6 stations,the remaining memories are empty.

    Manual station search

    Briey press button H or Ito increase or decrease thefrequency displayed.

    By continuing to pressthe button in the direction

    selected, you will obtaincontinuous scrolling of thefrequency.

    Scrolling stops when yourelease the button.

    Manual station storing

    Select the station required.

    Press one of the buttons "1" to "6"for more than two seconds.

    A window appears on the screen, thestation is stored when it is displayedon the memory number that youhave allocated to it.

    RDS SYSTEM

    Using the RDS (Radio DataSystem) function on FM

    Most FM radio stations use the RDSsystem.

    This system allows you to continue

    listening to the same station,whatever frequency it is using for theregion you are going through.

    This screen indicatesthe name of the sta-tion selected. Theaudio/telephone con-

    tinuously searches for the transmit-ter which transmits the same pro-

    gramme with the best reception. Thissearch may cause slight interferencewith the transmission.

    The function can be switched onor off via the "RDS" button or the"AUDIO FUNCTIONS"main menu.

    The screen will show:

    - "RDS" if the function is active andavailable for the station selected.

    - "RDS" crossed out or "RDS"greyed out on the screen* if thefunction is active but is not available

    on the station.If the station to which you arelistening does not have severalfrequencies in the region throughwhich you are travelling, you canswitch off the automatic frequencyfollowing.

    Trafc information programme

    Press the "TA/PTY"button to switch thefunction on or off.

    The multifunction screen will show:

    - TAif the function is selected,- TA crossed out or greyed out*

    if the function is selected but notavailable.

    Any trafc information ash will begiven priority, whatever source youare listening to (radio, CD or CDchanger).

    If you wish to interrupt thebroadcasting of a message, pressthe "TA/PTY"button.

    Notes: the volume of the trafc

    information is independent of thevolume of normal audio/telephonelistening.

    You can adjust it by using the volumebutton. The setting will be stored andwill be used when the next messagesare broadcast.

    You must be on the FM waveband.

    During station search or automaticstoring phases, if the "TA" functionis selected, transmitters which arecompatible with the broadcasting of

    these messages will be tuned to orstored rst.

    The station being listened to mustindicate via the RDS system that itbroadcasts trafc information.

    Stations which are organised ina network (EON) have regionaltransmitters which broadcast theirown programmes: you can listen toone of these stations and switch tothe network station which broadcaststhe trafc information messages.

    RDS station following

    Regional following mode (REG)

    When they are part of a network,certain stations broadcast regionalprogrammes in the various areasthey serve. With regional followingmode you can keep listening to thesame programme.

    You can choose to follow:

    Either a regional station only. Or the entire network, with the

    possibility of listening to a differentprogramme.

    The function can be switched on oroff via the "AUDIO FUNCTIONS"main menu or by pressing the "RDS"button for more than 2 seconds.

    The multifunction screen will show:

    - REGif the function is active,- REG crossed out or greyed out*

    if the function is active but notavailable.

    PTY function

    This allows you to listen to stationsbroadcasting a specic type ofprogramme, selected from the list ofavailable types below:

    When FM is selected, press button"TA/PTY"for more than two secondsto switch the function on or off.

    To nd a PTYprogramme:

    - select the PTYbutton,- turn button G to scroll down the

    different types of programmesoffered, then conrm your choice,

    when the programme of your choiceis displayed press button M or Nto carry out an automatic search(after an automatic search the PTYfunction is switched off if no stationhas been found).

    In PTY mode the different typesof programmes can be stored in

    the memory. To do this, press thepreselection buttons "1" to "6" formore than two seconds. To recallthe type of programme storedin the memory, briey press thecorrresponding button.

    EON system

    This system connects stationswhich are part of the same network.It enables the broadcast of trafcinformation or a PTY programme,by a station that is part of the samenetwork as the station to which youare listening.

    The service is available whenyou have selected the TA trafcinformation programme or the PTYfunction.

    Audio functions menu

    Select the "Audio functions"menufrom the general menuto:

    - "Activate/Deactivate RDSfrequency following",

    - "Activate/Deactivate regionalmode",

    - "Activate/deactivate RadioText display", broadcast by theradio station if available ("RT" is

    displayed at the bottom of thescreen).- "Activate/deactivate CD details

    display", also permits MP3display.

    Contextual menu

    By pressing knob G, the contextualmenu allows you to access thefollowing functions:

    - "Inputting a frequency",- "List of stations" to access

    the 30 stations picked up locallydirectly,

    - "Refresh list"to update this list,- "Display Radio Text" broadcast

    by the radio station if it is available("RT" is displayed at the bottom of

    the screen).When you are in radio mode,pressing knob G enables you tocall up the Radio contextual menuto select "Read Radio Text"(information broadcast by the stationconcerning the programme to whichyou are listening) (example: name ofsinger, title of the song...).

    COMPACT DISC

    Selecting CD mode

    After inserting a disc, printed faceupwards, the CD drive starts auto-matically.

    If a disc has already been inserted,press the "SOURCE" button toselect CD mode.

    Selecting a track

    Press button Mto select the following

    track.Press button N to return to the startof the current track or to select theprevious track.

    Press several times in succession toskip several tracks.

    Press button B toeject the disc from thedrive.

    If the CD is notremoved within 10 to 15 secondsfollowing ejection, it is re-insertedinto the drive automatically but is notplayed.

    Ejecting a disc Accelerated play

    Press and hold button M or N forforwards or backwards acceleratedplay.

    Accelerated play stops as soon as

    the button is released.

    Notes:

    Before inserting a CD, pressbutton B to check that the drive

    does not already contain a CD. When the navigation CD is in thedrive, it is not possible to listen to aCD in CD mode.

    Contextual menu

    By pressing knob G, the contextualmenu permits you to switch thefollowing functions on or off:

    Do not use copied CDs asthese could damage yourplayer.

    Insert circular compactdiscs only.

    Playing MP3 CDs

    Following the insertion of an MP3CD, playing of the rst song of therst MP3 directory begins. You canselect the track to be played usingbuttons Mor Nor the MP3 directoryusing buttons Hor I.

    Note: when the navigation CD is inthe drive, it is not possible to listen toan MP3 CD in CD mode.

    MP3 contextual menu

    Selecting a track

    To display the list of MP3 directories,press the MODE button to enter MP3mode. When the knob Gis pressed,the contextual menu permitsdisplaying of the "list of tracks".

    In MP3 mode, pressing the knob Genables you to switch the followingfunctions on or off:

    - Playing of the start of each track onthe CD ("Introscan").

    - Random play ("Random").- Repeating of the tracks in the

    current MP3 directory.- List of MP3 tracks.

    This equipment enables you to listen

    to music which is usually protectedby copyright in accordance withcurrent national and internationalregulations.

    Please refer to these regulations andcomply with them.

    The playing and displaying of anMP3 compilation may depend on therecording programme and / or theparameters used.

    We recommend use of the ISO 9660recording standard.

    Using buttons H or I,select the MP3 direc-tory to be played.

    To open an MP3 di-rectory, press knob G.

    Using buttons M or N, select the

    track to be played.Conrm by pressing knob G.

    TELEPHONE

    This function is a GSM dual-bandtelephone (900 and 1 800 MHz)incorporated in the RT3 GPS audio/telephone system.

    It is a "hands free" telephone. Thisfunction is provided by a microphone

    located next to the front courtesylight, the speakers, a steeringcolumn control and voice commandswhich allow access to most of thefunctions (the audio/telephonecontrol panel buttons allow access toall the functions).

    Display of the principal "mobile" typefunctions, as well as consultation ofthe indexes, is provided by the multi-function display.

    This function is active, whatever

    position the ignition key is in evenafter thirty minutes, when themessage "Economy mode active"appears on the multi-functiondisplay.

    "Telephone and telematicservices" menu

    Press the MENU button then, usingthe knob G, select the "Telephoneand telematic services"applicationand conrm to gain access to thefollowing options:

    - "Call".- "Service", permits access to thePEUGEOT services.

    - "Telephone functions", permitssetting of all of the telephonefunctions.

    - "Text messages (SMS)", permitsmanagement of all of the functionsfor the text messages (SMS).

    Contextual menu

    Press button D to display thetelephone contextual menu.

    This menu enables you to gainaccess to the following functions:

    - "List of calls".- "Enter number".- "Access to directory".- "Access to your voice mail"

    (message service of your GSMoperator).

    Note:

    Do not allow yourself to becomedistracted when you are behindthe wheel and comply with currentnational legislation. The driver isadvised to stop in order to hold atelephone conversation or carry outcertain actions (manual dialling of anumber, for example).

    Using the menus, example"Telephone functions"

    Press the "MENU" button todisplay the general menu. Selectthe "Telephone and telematicservices" application, validate"Telephone functions" to accessthe principal telephone functions,

    then the various menus, in order toreach the one required.

    This menu allows you to access thefollowing functions:

    - "Network": allows you to selectthe network search mode and tosee the networks available.

    - "Duration of calls": allows youto consult the duration recorder ofcalls made and zero re-set.

    - "Process the PIN code": allowsyou to use or modify the PIN code.

    - "Call options": allows you tocongure the calls with entering ofmy number, automatic answeringafter X rings, specication of ring

    options and allows you to congurethe diversion number for the textmessages and clear the list of callsand the text messages.

    Installing the SIM card

    Open ap L by pressing the pointof a pencil on the circular openingabove the ap.

    Insert your SIM card, available froma mobile telephone operator, asindicated in the graphics, then closethe ap.

    Note: removal or insertion of theSIM card must only be carried outafter the RT3 audio/telephone hasbeen switched off (key in position S(ignition switch) and screen off).

    If you have a duplicate card, whencarrying out the rst installation or toupdate your directory you must insertyour mobile telephones SIM card

    then transfer its information to theRT3 audio/telephone directory - referto the Directory main menu.

    Input your PIN code using thealphanumeric keypad and validateby pressing button G or button #to access the network. Connectionto the network is validated by theappearance of a symbol on thescreen.

    Warning:if you make three errors insuccession when inputting your PINcode, your SIM card will be blocked.To unblock it, you will need to inputthe PUK code. The PUK code will besupplied to you by the person sellingyour SIM card (input of the PUK codeallows for 10 errors in succession;after this the SIM card becomespermanently unusable).

    Note: the PIN code is required

    each time the ignition is switchedon, unless the PIN code has beenstored in the memory or protectionby PIN code is not activated on theSIM card.

    Inputting the PIN code Cancelling of PIN code request

    In the menu"Telephone functions"select"Process the PIN code", thenvalidate the "Cancel"function.

    Warning: in this case, do not loseyour SIM card. Losing it would meananyone who nds it would be able tomake unlimited calls.

    Telephone function screens

    Not in use

    This screen indicates the presenceof voice messages or text messages(SMS) not listened to/read, thecumulative time in use since the lastzero reset and the status of yourtelephone.

    In use

    This screen indicates the time elapsedsince the start of the conversation, aswell as the number* or name of theperson to whom you are speaking (ifrecorded in the index) and the status

    of your telephone.

    * If this option and service areavailable.

    Making a call

    Press button D to display thecontextual menu of the telephone.

    Entering a number

    Select the function "Call"then "Enter number"then enter the numberof the person you wishto speak to using thealphanumeric keypad.

    Press button Dto make the call.

    Making a call from a directory

    Select the "Call" function then"Directory" to access all the lescontaining a telephone number orthe "List of calls" function to accessthe list of the last twenty incoming (ifthe number display option is active)or outgoing calls.

    Note: there are two directories, theRT3 audio/telephone directory andthe SIM card directory.

    Receiving a call

    When a ringing sounds to

    let you know that a call iswaiting, you can chooseeither to accept it bypressing button D or theend of the steering wheel

    remote control or not to accept it bypressing the button Qor by selectingand validating the "NO" button onthe "Answer?"screen.

    If you accept the call, to end yourcommunication, press button Q.

    If you do not accept the call, it istransferred to your voice mail or to a

    call diversion number.

    Text messages (SMS)

    Receiving text messages

    When the buzzer sounds (if theSMS text messages buzzer option isactive) and a superimposed screenannounces "Do you wish to readthe new text message (SMS)?",you can choose to read the textmessage received by selectingand validating "YES" or postponereading it by selecting and validating"NO", by pressing the"ESC"buttonor by waiting until the announcement

    disappears. The message is read bythe voice synthesiser, if it is active.

    Note: the old text messages storedand the new text messages, thereading of which you wished topostpone, can be consulted. Pressthe "MENU" button then validatethe "Telematic" icon, select "Textmessages (SMS)" and validatethe function "Reading of SMSreceived" by pressing button G.

    Then scroll through the list by turningthe button and press the button toselect the text message to be read (ifthe voice synthesiser is active).

    Sending a text message

    In the menu "Text messages(SMS)"validate the function "Typingof an SMS". Type your text messageusing the alphanumeric keypad andvalidate it using the "OK"button tostore it or validate the "Send"buttonto send it. Validation of the "Send"button enables you to enter thenumber of your recipient or select itfrom the directory or from the list ofcalls and send the message.

    "Duration of calls" menu

    Select the "Duration of calls"function from the "Telephonefunctions" menu to consult theduration counters for the calls made.The partial counter totals the durationof the calls since the last zero resetcarried out using the "Zero reset"button.

    "Telephone options" menu

    Select the "Call options" functionfrom the "Telephone functions"menu to access the functions:

    - "Congure the calls" whichpermits activation and deactivationof the "show my number" and"automatic answering after X rings"

    functions- "Ringing options" which permits

    Record the number of the senderof the text message in your currentdirectory by selecting "Record".

    Emergency call*

    In an emergency, pressbutton V until a signal isheard and a call validation /deletion screen is displayed(delay of 6 seconds) or enter

    112directly.Make an emergency callif you are involved in a

    situation which leads you to fearserious consequences (injuries, ...)for those who are exposed to it (if youwitness or are involved in an accidentresulting in injuries, an attack, ...).

    Before making a call of this kind,the audio/telephone must detect acellular network.

    If you have not signed the specicPEUGEOT contract, the parametersof the SOS button are set so thata call is made to 112 - uniquenumber made available by theworldwide GSM network, reservedfor emergency calls.

    No security mode is required and,depending on the network or country,you do not need to insert your SIMcard or enter your PIN.

    If you have signed the specicPEUGEOT contract, your call will belocated and you will be put in contact

    with a PEUGEOT assistance team.For further details, refer to thegeneral conditions of your contract.

    "PEUGEOT Assistance" /Emergency call

    During a connection to "PEUGOTAssistance" or an emergency call,it is not possible to send or receivecalls or SMS text messages; thesewill be transferred to your voicemail.

    In this case, a green diode asheson the RT3 GPS audio/telephonepanel, when the emergency callor "PEUGEOT Assistance" callprocedure begins, then lightscontinuously when the call is takenby the services concerned.

    * If option and service available.

    "Customer Contact Centre"which enables you to contact thePEUGEOT Customer ContactCentre directly and access theservices offered (this type of callis suspended if an emergency orbreakown call is made).

    "PEUGEOT Assistance" whichenables you to contact the callcentre which controls the PEUGEOTbreakdown service directly andreceive rapid assistance (you have6 seconds within which to cancelthe call when it is made). Duringthe breakdown call phase it is notpossible to make any other callswith the exception of emergencycalls. If you have signed the specicPEUGEOT contract, your call will belocated.

    "Operator services" which givesaccess to the list of services specicto your operator (e.g.: customer

    service, consumption monitoring,news, stock market, weather, travel,games, etc) if they are available.

    The Directory

    General

    The directory can contain up to396 les divided into 4 independentsub-directories ("User 1", "User 2","User 3"and "User 4").

    When the system is delivered, thedefault current directory is "User 4".

    A le can contain:

    - an address,- 5 telephone numbers,- 5 e-mails,- a note,- a voice description which can be

    used for a voice command.The address is entered by indicatingthe town and the street.

    Note: if you enter the address in

    the absence of the navigation CDROM, you will not be able to use thisaddress for navigation.

    To modify an existing le, select itusing the "Consult or modify a le"function of the "Management ofdirectory les"menu then make themodications.

    Note:when the address is entered,the navigation CD-Rom must bepresent in order to obtain guidanceto this destination.

    "Directory" menu

    Press the MENU button then, usingthe knob G, select the "Directory"application and conrm to gainaccess to the following options:

    - "Management of directory les"with: "Consult or modify a le". "Add a le", enter the

    description of the new le thenselect on the le the section tobe completed then conrm andenter the information.

    "Delete a le". "Delete all les"in a directory.

    - "Directory conguration"with: "Select a directory". "Name a directory". "Select the starting directory"
