Petrea volubilis
Eye-catching vine attracts butterflies and bees
Queen’s Wreath Petrea, commonly known as Queen’s Wreath or Sandpaper Vine, is a fast growing woody vine similar in appearance to Wisteria. Grow on a trellis or over a pergola to enjoy the spectacular clusters of purple flowers blossoming on the entire vine from late winter. The leaves are course like a sandpaper texture and not commonly infested by pests. This vine is hardy, likes well-drained soils that are slightly acidic and can tolerate periods of dry weather. Can also be used as cut flowers and grown in hanging baskets.
