Apr-Jul 2013: 10 sessions based at a different school or park each week. Total 47 participants Average attendance 16 (max 26)
Other activities: Outdoor Club at Heatherside Junior School, Fleet (2 sessions) Fleet Youth Group (1 Session) Scout/Guide groups (Information provided)
Linda Cairns: Surrey Adventure Running Club stopped in December. Working with Guildford Schools Confederations
to offer an orienteering package for primary schools to buy into with new Primary Sport Premium funding. (mapping, course planning, teacher training).
George Abbot Secondary School (Guildford) Permanent orienteering course installed scheme of work set up for PE lessons in Year 7-9. Group of Young Orienteering Leaders trained.
Surrey School Games Orienteering festival organised and delivered in July at Surrey Sports Park - 12 schools.
MEMBERSHIP Current membership: 277
Net decrease of 8% in year (n=300 at last AGM) Still up 30% over last 3 years (2010: 214) Reduction due to change in BO membership
format Non-renewals: 75 (25%, 2012 non-renewal
only 16%) “Club only” non-renewal rate more than 40%
(37/85) BOF non-renewal rate less than 18% (38/215)
Transfers from Club Only to BOF: 18 New joiners: 52

CHAIRMAN'S OVERVIEW Membership and participation is excellent and
increased significantly over past few years Finding organisers remains a problem. Most
years we have had to cancel events. Training is well supported, and many offer to
put training on Finances are strong Publicity and development have been key to
our progress We are getting stronger in team events The events we put on are high quality, as are
our web site and SNaggers
