Board Election Fills Four Director Seats change in the community regarding heart health of women in their community and across the country.

Incumbent Directors, Daniel Canales, an independent agent at HealthMarkets, Warren Dranit of Spaulding McCullough & Tansil LLP and Wayne Leach of CSW/Stuber-Stroeh Engineering Group, Inc., will resume their positions on the board.

Terms are for three years for the seats filled by election. Three of this year’s candidates are longtime PACC board members who will be continuing their board work.

Chamber member for the past 19 years and long-time chair of the PACC Ambassador program, Canales is recognized as cornerstone sage of the organization. He said he keeps in touch with the pulse of the Petaluma community through his active participation in numerous

Chamber outreach events. When he joined the Chamber in 1998, Canales said he found his PACC membership “afforded him ideal exposure to community business leaders; while at the same time being the perfect vehicle for community involvement.”

Lauded and Liked PACC Volunteer Gone

Members who did not know James Thomas “Jim” Wilson, Jr. may not understand the profound loss Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) members, directors, and staff feel at his death.

The 62-year old paraplegic man who most of us knew as “Jim” died on March 31 at home. Wilson was born on March 11, 1956 in Michigan. He was a volunteer at PACC for more than 25 years. Anybody who worked with “Jim,” knew him as a gentle person who was usually cheerful and eager to help. He was best known as “Jim.” He was also a kind, friendly

gentleman who never seemed to have a bad opinion of any one.

He was also a volunteer at the Petaluma Library and a budding artist who according to his obit “attended art classes at the Petaluma Senior Center where he created many “beautiful ceramics and paintings.”

Though he spent his life in a wheelchair, “Jim” never seemed to stop doing what he could to make the community a better place for everyone. He will be missed. Donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Petaluma.

Looks like the April ribbon cutting at Harvest by The Patio (formerly known as Cultivate) at 5 Petaluma Blvd. South, Suite D was a great way to re-introduce a healthy food restaurant concept.

New Marketing App Launched for Local Business

Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) members and local consumers are being invited to investigate a marketing platform that allows businesses to target their current customer base with promotions and deals that are visible on their cell phones.

NETcinity is a proximity marketing company with the mission of strengthening communities by strengthening the small to medium businesses in them. The company claims to enable businesses to compete with big box chains by providing marketing technology that has been, until now, too costly.

The platform also helps attract new customers or clients by allowing businesses to automatically contact

consumers with a Bluetooth notification on the lock screen of their mobile device when they are within 260 feet of the front door of the business.

Also customers, after downloading the app available in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, can see local store deals, coupons, promotions and events right on their cell phones and they will be notified when they are near their new favorite business.

PACC members who download the app right now will be able to find all of the Chamber events listed for the next few months.

To learn more about NETcinity, call Jim Griffith at 324-5553 or Sherry Ballestrasse at 415-827-0909.
