Containment:

• Keeping pest levels to an acceptable level

• This is essential for any agriculture production

• If pest are not contained, they will effect the financial output of the crop

• A good horticulture and Agronomic practice

• One must maintain a high scouting program in order to achieve containment

• Identification of future pest risks, before they become a problem

• Confining existing pest problems

Containment continued:

• Do not move pests from infected areas to non-infected areas

• Work in infested areas last

• Decontaminate equipment used in infected areas

Eradication:

• This is total removal of the pest from the entire area

• If the pest has been recently introduced and has limited geographical distribution, it may be possible to eradicate the organism from the area of concern.
