Peruvian rock singer inspired at a very young age bythe Beatlesandthe Rolling Stones. Pedro Surez-Vrtiz used to write complex reflections about life and family since he was a kid. Suarez-Vertiz graduated in communication sciences at the Lima University; his writing skills along with his passion for rock drove him to choose a music career. Paranoia was his first band. The real deal came with Arena Hash, a second and more experienced group of musicians who recorded two albums Arena Hash and El Rey de Ah Ah Ah. In 1993, Pedro Surez-Vrtiz decided to go on his own making his first solo record No Existen Tcnicas Para Olvidar. In 1996, a second effort was called Pntelo en la Lengua followed by 1999's Degeneracin Actual.

Pedro Martn Jos Mara Surez-Vrtiz Alva(born February 13, 1969 inCallao,Peru) is aPeruviansinger-songwriter-guitarist. He founded the popular rock bandArena Hashwith his brother Patricio, Arturo Pomar andChristian Meierin 1987; a few years later, the band broke up and Vrtiz began his solo career.He is the winner ofOrgullosamente Latino2004 (Proudly Latin 2004) and winner of the Best Latin Soloist of the Year in Mexico.He is well known for his multitudinous concerts, his vocal rhythm, his extensive guitar collection, his null alcohol and tobacco intake (despite his bohemian image), his philanthropy and his personality.
