Peruvian Operations Coricancha, Contonga, Pucarrajo
OVERVIEWCONTONGA The Contonga mine is an underground multimetallic mine with more than 100 years of operating history. The mine which is located approximately 470 kilometers from Lima, Peru, has the authorisation to process 1,200 tonnes of ore daily and is continuing with mineral exploration programs that which will ensure the future of the operation.
CORICANCHA The Coricancha mine is an underground multi-metallic mine with more than 60 years of operating history. The mine’s poly-metallic processing plant utilizes the BIOX® bio-leaching process to recover refractory gold in an environmentally sound manner. Coricancha mine is located approximately 90 kilometers east of Lima, Peru in close proximity to a number of other signifi cant mining operations and exploration properties. The Coricancha mine was acquired by Nyrstar in October 2009 and has been on care and maintenance since August 2013. In May 2015, Nyrstar entered into a two year option agreement for the sale of the Coricancha mine to Great Panther Silver Limited
PUCARRAJO The Pucarrajo mine is an underground multimetallic mine which had been in operation for more than 30 years, and was operating at approximately 1,000 tonnes per day before it was placed on care and maintenance in 2008 due to weak metal prices. The Pucarrajo mine remains on care and maintenance.

THE WORLD OF NYRSTARContonga, Coricancha and Puccarajo Mines joined Nyrstar in 2009 and 2010. Contonga is a polymetallic mine with signifi cant reserves of zinc, lead, copper and silver. It is located in the district of San Marcos, in Ancash region, 470 km from Lima, the capital city of Peru. Contonga Mine was acquired by Nyrstar in July 2010, when it was part of Minera Huallanca S.A., and in 2015 increased its production capacity of 990 tonnes per day to 1,200 tonnes per day. This capacity is currently maintained.
Coricancha is a polymetallic mine with over 60 years history and located in the district of San Mateo, in the Lima region. It has reserves of gold, silver, copper, zinc and lead, and it uses a conventional mining method in its operation. The Coricancha mine was acquired by Nyrstar in October 2009 and has been on care and maintenance since August 2013. In May 2015, Nyrstar entered into a two year option agreement for the sale of the Coricancha mine to Great Panther Silver Limited
Pucarrajo is a mine with reserves of zinc, lead and silver located in the province of Bolognesi, Ancash region. It was acquired along with Contonga by Nyrstar and it is also currently on care and maintenance. All three of these mines have been in operations for decades and have rich histories of operations and community engagement activities.
