Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice

The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner.

Description

The personal statement project is something that allows me to reflect on why I want to go to teaching. I am able to think about the questions that are being provided to me, and are then answered reflectively. Also, I am able to show pictures and quotes that are close to me, and have made a difference to me.

Rationale

I chose Standard #10 because I am able to evaluate the choices I make of why I want to be a teacher. I can evaluate my beliefs, values, and what I want to make of myself as a teacher.

I enjoy being involved in out-of-school activities. Not only do I want to teach, but I also want to coach cross country and track. Here are some pictures of students who I helped coach for the intramural cross country team.
