Remember that the Personal Project consists of three components: process journal, final outcome/product, and final report.

The focus of today in on one of those components: THE PROCESS JOURNAL (this counts as 1/3 of your final score on the project).

Introduction to the Process Journal

• All students will have a digital process journal in Managebac. This will allow your supervisor to view your progress and will also ensure you don’t lose anything.

• If your project includes any documents that are not in digital form you may want to consider keeping a personal project folder or scanning/uploading documents into Managebac.

• Keep in mind that your process journal will be assessed. It is important that it is organized and has depth. Your entries should be meaningful and relevant to your project development.

Using Managebac

The Process Journal is….

-used throughout the project to document the development -an evolving record of interests, accomplishments, and processes-a place to record initial thoughts and progress-a place for recording interactions with sources, supervisors, and external contributors

Pick the definition that feels right to you and then document it in Managebac.

Respond to the questions below in your process journal:

1) What is the purpose of your project?2) Write are your goals?3) What knowledge do you already have about your topic?4) What is your global context and how is it shaping your

project?5) Who is your supervisor and how do you think they will

help you with your project?

Guess what!?!? By providing thoughtful responses to these questions, you have basically completed all the information that will be required in the introduction for your final report.
