I am also seeking to take more of a strategic, leadership and mentoring role within the IT industry to pass on my experience to the next generation of analysts and managers. 3 Career Objectives Through using a structured and methodical project approach, my primary objective as Senior Business Analyst and/or Project Manager is to provide specialised “end to end“ BA/PM services to my clients from inception of an idea through to implementation and support of the new IT solution. The specialised BA/PM services I offer include: Working with clients to clearly identify their strategic business need and goals for the new IT solution while ensuring the identified goals are aligned to existing strategic plan targets or objectives. Conducting requirements workshops to assist clients with defining the operational concept and business requirements for the new system and documenting this information in a Business Specification. Following the approval of the Business Specification, conduct gap analysis to identify the gaps between current business systems and the new business requirements and document the analysis findings in a Gap Analysis Report. 2 Career GoalsWith 27 years’ experience in the IT industry and 18 years as a Business Analyst/Project Manager my current career goal is to develop and implement a streamlined business analysis process, project management and system engineering approach that will ensure a high quality and value for money outcome for all projects I am involved in.

I am also seeking to take more of a strategic, leadership and mentoring role within the IT industry to pass on my experience to the next generation of analysts and managers.

3 Career ObjectivesThrough using a structured and methodical project approach, my primary objective as Senior Business Analyst and/or Project Manager is to provide specialised “end to end“ BA/PM services to my clients from inception of an idea through to implementation and support of the new IT solution.

The specialised BA/PM services I offer include:

Working with clients to clearly identify their strategic business need and goals for the new IT solution while ensuring the identified goals are aligned to existing strategic plan targets or objectives.

Conducting requirements workshops to assist clients with defining the operational concept and business requirements for the new system and documenting this informa-tion in a Business Specification.

Following the approval of the Business Specification, conduct gap analysis to identify the gaps between current business systems and the new business requirements and document the analysis findings in a Gap Analysis Report.

Following the approval of the Business Specification, conduct market research to identify potential solutions for meeting the business requirements and to recommend a course of action for the procurement phase and document the findings of this research in a Market Research Paper.

Working with clients to develop a Business Case or Acquisition Plan for obtaining ap-proval to commence an implementation project to deliver a solution that meets the ap-proved Business Specification.

To assist clients with preparing and issuing a tender (RFI, RFQ, RFT) for the delivery of the recommended solution using the Business Specification as the Tender Specifica-tion and then providing specialist IT support to the tender evaluation team to evaluate vendor proposals from an IT perspective.

To assist clients with preparing/reviewing contracts or agreements and preparing a Statement Of Work for the delivery of the new solution once a preferred Vendor/solu-tion is selected during the tender process and also to assist with the final contract ne-gotiations with the selected vendor.

To assist clients during the project implementation by acting in a design and technical assurance role to ensure the product vendor or development team is delivering a viable and quality solution in accordance with the agreed contract specifications and meeting the delivery obligations set out by the Statement Of Work. Typically this will include re-viewing or preparing specifications and design documents as well as being involved with configuration/customisation, training, user acceptance testing, transition and docu-mentation activities as well as providing general program management support.

To illustrate how these end-to-end analysis and project implementation services can be provided I have developed my own version of an integrated project approach covering the complete project lifecycle. A copy of the project approach can be provided on request.

4 Career Profile ICT Consultant with 27 years’ experience with a Bachelor of Business degree in In-

formation Technology;

Experience in working on IT developments with both large complex organisations in the government, defence, mining, telecommunication and manufacturing sectors;

Experience in all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) specialising as a Senior Business Analyst and/or Project Management ( PRINCE2, PMBOK) and also with extensive experience with state procurement, contract management/negoti-ation, workshop facilitation, market research, tender preparation, tender evaluation, business case development, training, end user acceptance testing, software configura-tion and data migration activities;

State Government 2007 to 2015 2015 – Senior Business Analyst, Department of the Culture and Arts (DCA), West Aus-

tralian Government. Engaged to perform a Gap Analysis for specifying the require-ments and viability of delivering a common multi-year funding program solution to both DCA and Creative Victoria. Both agencies have existing grants management solutions which need to be extended to support similar multi-year funding arrangements.

Engaged as a consultant working on the ana-lysis, procurement and implementation phases of the Online Grants Management Sys-tem (OGMS) Project. This role includes completing the configuration of MS CRM solu-tion.

2009 to 2015 - Project Manager/Senior Business Analyst, Arts SA for South Australian Government. Engaged as a consultant working on the analysis, procurement and im-plementation phases of the Grants Management System (GMS) Project. This role in-cludes completing the configuration of Technology One CRM solution.

2008 to 2014 Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager, Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) for South Australian Government. Engaged over a 4 year period working on various business analysis activities to develop Business Specifications for DPC business units as well as assist with procurement and tender evaluation activities.
