The class has taught me not to accept failure and to only expect the best from myself, as I now realize if I set my mind to a task, I have the determination to reach it.

Extracurricular activities or life experiences most meaningful:• I enjoy running as a hobby. It relaxes and clears my mind. It is also a fun way to connect with

the community as there are several fun local races to participate in, such as color runs or runs to support various diseases like cancer and autism. These races have opened my eyes to all the struggles that people around me may endure and I am glad I can help support these various causes. Running has given me a chance to become more involved in my school as I joined the SPHS Cross Country team. Running has made me a stronger individual as during a long race, you must be mentally tough. I believe that by taking up running I have grown to be more self motivated and determined in other areas of my life.

• I also enjoy singing and dancing with my school show choir. We compete in several statewide competitions and perform for various events such as school assemblies and local elementary schools. Show choir has also opened the door for me to reach out into the younger children of the community as I took the job as a summer show choir camp counselor.
