Sending Church Gateway Baptist Church P.O. Box 607 Rising Sun, MD 21911 Dear Pastor and Church Family, June 2012 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12) This verse has proved true many times over the last couple of months, both in our family and in the church plant. One great comfort we have is that we must be doing something right if we are receiving so much opposition. We covet your prayers as we strive to continue and to triumph over the recent attacks of Satan. One Sunday night in June, a man walked into the service, obviously drunk, because he thought that he was home. Because others have done this before and were only seeking money, we thought little of this first encounter. After talking to the man for a while, I told him that if he really wanted to change he needed to come back Wednesday night and be sober. Much to my surprise, he came. After this, I began a discipleship course with him on Monday nights. Carlos remained sober for three weeks, and attended every service, even bringing visitors with him every time. He was finally starting to see that there is only salvation through Christ, when one Sunday morning, a Jehovah’s Witness entered the gates of our church and began to talk to him. Like a father protecting his child, I hurried out there to protect Carlos. Although Carlos was not influenced by the words of the man, the damage had already been done. The emotional encounter disturbed him, and the following Monday night, he left the Bible study, went out, and got drunk. The next day, I went out looking for him, found him, and took him home. I have continued the studies with his family, but Carlos is avoiding me. We ask that you pray for his salvation, and also for his family. I don’t believe that this was a chance meeting, but that through this, God will show His mighty power in a transformed life. I have also begun a discipleship course with Carlos’ nephew. Through a set of circumstances, he is angry with God, and has turned his back on the religion he used to practice. Although he has not made a profession, and has yet to step in the doors of our church, I believe that God is working in his heart. He has started to open up with me as I have gained his confidence. Pray for Jonathan and the salvation of his family. We have been busy over the past few months with various ministries. We thank God for those who work along side of us, so that these ministries can be done. In May, we celebrated Mother’s Day with the Bible Club kids and their mothers. One mother has recently begun a Bible study, and we praise God for the work that He is doing in her life. We have also continued our monthly church wide visitation. Although participation has dropped, we praise God that we have never gone alone. After four years, our family is planning our first furlough. The church is doing well. We will be ordaining Mauricio in October, so that he can continue the work when we leave. It has always been his desire to pastor. We have seen evidence of this calling many times over the past few years. The church loves and supports him and his family. I believe that the transition will be an easy one. We are praying that the church will continue to be strong, and that we will be able to move on to another area of Chile at the close of our furlough. Pray with us for God’s wisdom and direction. If you would like to have our family visit, so that we can share with you what God has done in Calera de Tango, we will be scheduling meetings between April and November 2013. You can contact us through our email or Vonage number: [email protected] or (410) 942-9153. Thank you for your prayers. May God bless you. The Gali Family Mission Agency WWNTBM P.O. Dear Pastor and Church Family, June 2012

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high

places.” (Ephesians 6:12) This verse has proved true many times over the last couple of months, both in our family and in the church plant. One great comfort we have is that we must be doing something right if
